Watch out Diddy — Shaq launching his own line of vodka

If you’ve watched an NBA game this season — heck, if you’ve watched television in the past month period — you have seen the Rat Pack inspired Diddy commercial to push his new vodka Ciroc.

Shaq wants in.

Maybe not in the Rat Pack, but he wants in the vodka game and will launch his own brand, reports the New York Post.

Shaquille O’Neal is launching his own line of vodka — sensationally titled “Luv Shaq.” The former NBA star plans to launch the brand early next year, and for all those barroom athletes, it is sugar- and gluten-free. We’re told Luv Shaq comes in coconut flavor, and the bottle features an image of O’Neal with giant wings. Drew Adelman, founder of Devotion Vodka, which is producing Shaq’s sauce, tells us it will directly compete with Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Ciroc, but at a “more competitive price.”

Shaq with a giant pair of wings? I may need a drink after seeing that.

Wow. This better be a joke. But with shaq I guess you never can tell.

“More competitive price” indirectly must mean cheap, poor quality drink.

Diddy does not own Ciroc. He is a paid spokesman on a 3 year contract. Probably since Diddy has helped make Ciroc a little more mainstream, expect his contract not to get extended as he is no longer valuable to the brand.
If Shaq wants to learn from Diddy, make sure you get a 50/50 ownership stake in your new company Shaq and not a spokesman contract. Actually, once you get a few bottle available, Diddy can be a spokesman for Shaq’s vodka brand.

George Foreman bought out his original partners, owned the company and made enough $$ to be worth over $100 million. Your advice is spot on. If only more jocks would have better agents/manager in their sponsorship deals, we would read fewer stories about broke pros.

Frank Vincent doesn’t look like he’s aged much in those Ciroc commercials.
    “Now go get your shinebox!”

Shaq making Vodka is like Michael Jordan making cologne. Ironically, they both have the same ingredients.

the luv shaq will be a success if it is cheap and sold in the ghetto.

I love Shaquille but this is strictly business, he does not drink. At least puffy get’s wet on his own supply.

How fat will the bottle be?
