Video: Kobe Bryant hitting some ridiculous shots vs. Knicks

Dec 14, 2012, 12:01 PM EDT

People say all the time “Kobe Bryant needs to trust his teammates more and get them the ball, not just shoot.” The reality is Kobe will try to trust his teammates for a quarter or two, but if they don’t step up to his satisfaction (or if he feels the game getting away from the Lakers) he just starts to do it all himself. He always trusts and believes in himself, teammates have to earn that nightly.

That’s what happened at Madison Square Garden Thursday, Carmelo Anthony took over the game early and Kobe spent most of the night trying to will his team back in the game. And the result is some vintage Kobe shots that are just ridiculous.

And like usual, that approach didn’t work.

Kobe, keep doin what you’re doin man…Tell your dumb owner to get his mind right, fire D’antoni and get Phil back. Cut Blake immediately, get fisher back. trade Gasol for Love, Love is done in Minnesota. Kobe has been on great behavior this year…don’t criticize his game of all things…criticize them weak ass teammates….That is all. And oh Yea Go GSW!!! PEACE!!

That shot from the corner, making up for an errant pass, ridiculous. Looked so effortless.

“And like usual, that approach didn’t work.” — That’s all that counts.

By the way – Manu Ginobili takes and makes those same shots almost every night. Anyone who follows the Spurs would not be very impressed.

stupid argument. So you’re saying that if Kobe didn’t score 30 last night then they would have a better shot to win? Why don’t you watch basketball instead of looking at box scores.

Jus like in the Iverson days, you cant make people put the ball in the cup, you cant make people want to win. That has to be in you. Lebron always made all this hoopla about no help no help…and he averaged almost 8 assists. If people make shots, stars dont have to take as many (Which is still a flawed argument)
Kobe leads by as much example as he can, he’s on fire this year, he’s going to the foul line and still averaging 5+ assists. Last night two starter had 3 points apiece….I guess that’s Kobe’s fault….Dont hate because you think you dont like the guy….because if you didnt notice, you’ve never met him.

Looking at the boxscores says the Lakers lost AGAIN last night.

This game was over at halftime, why play Kobe 44 minutes in a lost cause game?

    Desperate for a win I guess…..

Final score says they lost by 7. I watched the game. L.A. was never in it.

It’s also so easy for people to forget this guy has been in the league for 17 years!

    • aboogy123456 - Dec 14, 2012 at 5:15 PM

      Great point!

  7. paulhargis53 - Dec 14, 2012 at 3:36 PM

It’s not hard to forget that. His defense looked like he’d been in the league 17 years, 10 years ago.

Just curious, How many more times are you going to post that? I’ve seen this same post 6 times now.

Just curious: Why do you keep reading the same post over and over?

Harlem Globetrotters are recruiting him…..He can be the new MeadowLark Lemon….ahahahahaha

Hitting trick shots does not equate to “FUNDAMENTAL” and it does not equate to wins !!!!

Get the confetti, red white and blue uniform and grace the Harlem Globetrotter court where he truly belongs.

Stop disgracing the “FUNDAMENTAL” game of “Basketball” …..which is different from making H.O.R.S.E. shots….ahahahaha

I stopped watching after the first half. Kobe threw up bombs from all over, usually early in the clock without even trying to establish the offense. And he missed most of them.

The PT Barnum Circus will be in town next week, Kobe can play horse trick shots at $20 /a shot. Mr. Trump , you’re next. And no firing anyone , no WWF fighting or buying the circus for the White House. All the real clowns are in Congress on both sides of the fence.
