PBT Podcast: Talking Lakers, Warriors, All-Star voting, and a chat with Kenny Anderson

Dec 14, 2012, 3:14 PM EDT

Los Angeles Lakers Bryant looks at the clock during their NBA basketball game against the New York Knicks in New York

In this edition of the podcast, Kurt Helin and I sit down to discuss the state of the Lakers, after they were dropped Thursday night by a very good Knicks team.

We then discuss Damian Lillard and the impact he’s having with the Blazers this season, before shifting our attention to the surging Golden State Warriors, and the signature win they were able to achieve in Miami over the Heat earlier this week.

We wrap it up with a discussion of the All-Star voting returns, but before that, Kurt has a discussion with this week’s special guest, former New Jersey Net and 14-year NBA veteran, Kenny Anderson.

At what point are you clowns just beating a dead horse with the constant barrage about the Lakers? Yeah, they suck right now, they might suck the whole season. Yeah, all the Laker haters are blowing through their lotion and tissues having the time of their pathetic lives. Is PBT all about putting up everything they possibly can on a team with a losing record? When just about any other team wins we see one article about it here. When the Lakers lose there are three or four.

Is it not possible to focus on the positive things some teams are doing? Is this site really that dependent on page views generated by the folks desperate to see the Lakers fail? I look at posts about other teams and see anywhere from zero to maybe a dozen comments. PBT puts up a post about Kobe’s choice of toe fungus cream and there’s a hundred comments. A pretty sad business model, particularly since it reflects the schadenfreude (look it up, ya lazy bum) of the audience.
