With the new CBA you can only have 1 player on your roster with a max contract. My hope is that Kahn and the rest of wolves management said Ricky Rubio long term is more valuable than K.Love. Personally agree with this if it is the case, Love can fill up a stat sheet but not great on defense…Obviously you hope to keep both, but both will want max deals and I personally believe Rubio is a better play long term. And besides Rubio is a team guy and you never hear a negative thing about him. Love will be a Laker in 3 years.

I’m glad to see that the media is picking up the ownership’s side and running with it.

Nothing that Kevin Love said about the franchise and the ownership was wrong. The T-Wolves, aside from two good years with Garnett, have done nothing to support any of the potential franchise stars that they’ve had. Couple that with an abysmal record of drafting players who look like tigers on paper and play like pussycats on the court, you have a franchise that will hang around the .500 mark year after year and occasionally flirt with being the sacrificial #8 seed in the playoffs. When you have a decent player like Love who would like to, at one point in his career, be a playoff contender, he’s going to get frustrated with a team that insanely keeps repeating the same mistakes over and over again when it comes to personnel decisions.

As a Wolves fan, they’ve been “blowing it up” the whole life of the franchise outside of a couple Garnett years. You can only blow things up so many times before even the ashes are gone.

he needs to stop whining top free agents dont wanna play on that team due to one the owner

plus kahn the gm who did what take 3 guards in the first round something like that yrs ago n so far only rubio is still here n thats only cause he played overseas first yrs

kahn screwed up that draft he could of had stephon curry n rubio they also drafted ty lawson but traded him away for nothing he should be fired as well

but they sg help in the worse way why would they take a chance on roy for 2 yrs hes totally done he just robbed them of 5 mil for what 13 games

This. As a Wolves fan, I know that if the team is competitive in 2 years then Love will stick around to be a contender. If the Wolves aren’t competitive in 2 years, then I want Love to go because then we will know that a team cannot be built around him, and it will be time to blow it all up and try again. You can only keep spinning the tires for so long before you realize you’re not going anywhere.

This is what annoyed me about the article. Love complains in the off-season about how the team needs to make moves to contend. Then a few days ago he complains about the turnover in the locker room and not recognizing people due to said moves. He can’t have it both ways.

Micheal beasley was the 2nd best option on that horrible roster for 4 years and he was their second best option and thats just bad no one could make shots orpasses in the first 4 seasons around love thats not his fault teams now hes getting the ball and they couldnt stop him until this year he has the supporting cast to be great for the next 3 years and i believe with love rubio amd this roster they will compete for a championship

I agree with those examples he can be a better leader and he can be better on defense and those examples are good but hes not a center thats pekovics job and hes not a pojnt gaurd that belongs to rubio but what he has been is a consistent player who plays power forward putting on avg 25 pts & 15 rebounds per game the reason they couldnt win in the past was because of the people around him and the reson why they are winning this year is because of the people around him. He will player better because he is a player who is dedicated to the game of basketball he has great work ethic who needs to grow into that leadership role.

Weird timing to complain. Tried to make free agent moves all offseason. Got Kirilenko, Shved, Buddinger and Roy(upside that looks like it won’t pan out). Went .500 while he was out with injury(among others injured), right in the mix. Rubio about to come back…things seem to be heading in the right direction, why publicly diss the organization now?

I like the Wolves, having gone to a number of their games in the past. But I’m done with Kevin Love, unless he grows up. I’m sick of watching him whine to the refs every time he takes a shot in the paint and there is no whistle. Especially since most of the time, the other team is running down the floor and scoring, while he trots in that general direction, whining the entire time.

Note to Kevin: Shut up and play!

Note to Kahn: Trade Love while he still has value.

Ok no problem, I think the player you build your team around needs to make his teammates better. There are a few ways you can do this:

He could be a dominating inside player that commands a double team every time he gets in the post. When defenses have to double you like that, it opens up the floor for other players and thus makes the whole team better. Good example – shaq

He could be one of the best defensive players in the league, a defensive anchor that changes the game because nobody wants to go inside and challenge him. Right now he can’t even stop his own guy, let alone provide any help defense. – good example – dwight

He could be someone where if your team is in a slump, you give him the ball and ask him to create offense. This could be someone like chris paul who creates offense and then does an amazing job finding the open guy. It could be someone like durant who can get a quality shot off no matter what. If the team is flat, i don’t see many times where kevin love just can bail them out.

Also since he is none of these things, he could be a team leader. And he’s not that either. He’s shown to be selfish and blames other people way too often.

I do think he’d be a great complementary piece because if you have a star player that commands double teams on offense, kevin love can do a nice job coming in and grabbing rebounds and hitting open threes.

So abology what is the ideal candidate for a piece to rebuild around? Are you kidding me what franchise wouldnt want kevin love to build around? Do you know how many players are on the team for the first 3 years of his career? The answer is 3 love pekovic and ridnour the rest were busts and bad players no one could do anything with that roster. Coming from last year do you know how many people came from that roster to this year? Love rubio pekovic ridnour williams and lee, they got rid of over half of their roster but through all of this they kept love to build around and through the past two years they have gotten trades and free agents to play with love rubio and pekovic the talent is there and adelman will compete for a championship within 3 years with this team.

He deserves it. Kevin needs to shut up and play basketball no one as young as he is should be constantly criticizing their organization, especially when they have ricky rubio and signed veterans like kirilenko and barea. If he wants to play in the playoffs so bad he should start playing defense and lead his team there like all other superstars do

Another point, I know Kevin love is good but he’s not the true franchise player that his stats make him out to be. You can’t run your offense through him and he’s a below average defender. If kevin wants to win a championship in minnesota, then he can’t be the best player on his team. He acts like there’s nothing that he himself can do better. With his shooting and rebounding skills, he is more like the best complementary player in the NBA, but not someone you build your whole team around.

Kevin love needs to shut up and stop complaining. They’ve been doing a great job as a franchise and improving the last couple of years, it’s not like they are trending down. They are building a winner and putting a lot of good young players together. What did he expect? Did he actually expect them to sign someone like Dwight howard? the big time free agents are not coming to minnesota, and he should’ve known that.

I was upset because of the article that was written by yahoo. He could have made love look a little better by telling the whole truth because yeah taylor and kahn have had 8 years of consistent draft busts. Love should have kept his mouth shut because kahn gave addleman 6 new winning attitudes along with love rubio pekovic barea and ridnour with lee coming along. I like this 2012 team and love does too!

Yeah I’m not sure he’d have much credibility getting upset. Whether or not his statements were warranted (they were), no fan is going to sit there and be objective about their team’s best player openly talking about leaving and getting back at ownership in 2 years.
