Dwight Howard stars in parody “Save The Centers” video

Dec 13, 2012, 11:57 AM EST

That is damn funny.

In case you missed it, the NBA has taken the “center” designation off the All-Star ballot, instead you vote for three “frontcourt” players. The reason is the evolution of the NBA — Kevin Garnett spent most of his career as a forward but he plays the center spot now for Boston, how do you define him on that list. Same with Anderson Varejao (who may be playing the best of any “center” in the East but is a four). Chris Bosh in Miami is the same way.

But the old school centers don’t like it. Look what Roy Hibbert said to NBA.com.

“It’s bull!” the Pacers’ center said…

“It’s making it harder for true centers,” Hibbert said. “It makes the pool a lot bigger. It’s whatever the people want. Last year, I wasn’t going into the season saying, ‘Hey, I want to be an All-Star.’ It kind of happened. I just played my game, so whatever happens this year happens.”

Hibbert’s not making the All-Star team this year. But that really has more to do with the drop in the quality of his play (shooting 37.5 percent this season).

But you get the idea. Howard just made his point with humor.
