Video: Knicks’ Kidd drains game-winning three to beat Nets

Dec 11, 2012, 10:20 PM EST

New York returned the favor to Brooklyn on Tuesday night with a dramatic win — Jason Kidd with what turned out to be the game-winning three.

Was it legit? Jeff Van Gundy doesn’t think so and he has a point, Kidd kicked out his leg to get Jerry Stackhouse on the foul. It worked and while I wouldn’t take the game-winning shot away it wouldn’t shock me if Kidd got a flopping foul (this was shown in the league video on what constitutes a flop).

But the bigger issue for the Nets might be how open Kidd — a deadly three-point shooter — was after the J.R. Smith drive.

Kidd missed the free throw. (In best Rasheed Wallace voice) BALL DON’T LIE!

Gerald Wallace and Deron Williams had shots at threes to tie and send this to overtime, but no luck. Knicks win. Theeee Knicks win.

    Terrific shot by Kidd.

That being said, Kidd definitely shouldn’t have been awarded the foul shot – he very clearly extended his leg to create contact.

      Yep, clutch shot, bad call.

The leg kick was definitely a flop. Can Kidd be fined even though it’s his first offense?

Kidd has been nothing but clutch.

Nets flopped about 27 times tonight. Please don’t start with that.

    Flop? or…. a wiley veteran move…

I think it’s more of a savvy move than a flop because it is intentionally drawing real contact. A flop is just a flop.

The Knick /Nets rivalry this season will rival even the Knicks/Heat and Cs/Knick games.Ticket prices are starting to get crazy , even for Stub Hub. But it’s great hoops and real drama, not that LA fake crap.
