Chris Wilcox has been fined $25,000 for making an obscene gesture to fans during the game between the Celtics and the Sixers on Dec. 7, the league announced.

The incident occurred during a timeout with 8:47 remaining in the fourth quarter.

But what exactly did Wilcox do to deserve such a hefty fine?

From Chris Forsberg of ESPNBoston.com:

Ah, giving the finger to an arena full of NBA fans. Yep, that’ll do it.

so Popovich gets fined $250k for doing something that is in the best for his team, but Wilcox gets fined $25k for being a douche with no sense of humor, resulting in giving the stadium full of fans and children…perfect sense

He didn’t flip off the fans, he gave it to the camera man who put him and his heterosexual male teammate on the kiss cam. Who exactly is the one with no sense of humor here?

He was actually McDonald’s “small fry” of the game…baaaaahahaha

The cameraman is lucky Wilcox didn’t take a swing at him.

As usual, Boston has no class.

    Celtics. What do you expect?

Blame the camera man for putting Wilcox and Sullinger on the kiss cam in the first place. Not everyone is going to take it as a joke because it would come off as if you’re trying to call them homosexuals. It might come off as him being insecure and unhumorous, but they were in Philly and not the TD Bank Garden in Boston so I can kinda understand why he would give em the finger since it was the away teams arena personnel and a division rival to boot. Phillys FO, coaches or players might’ve encouraged them to do it before the game.

Chris Wilcox’s play on the court is more obscene than that.

In all actuality he was flipping the bird to Celtics fans. Because the Sixers don’t have any fans. Once the NHL lockout ends the Wells Fargo Ctr. will be a ghost town again during Sixers games.
