Stephen Jackson has strong words for Serge Ibaka

Late in the Thunder’s win over the Lakers on Friday, Metta World Peace and Serge Ibaka got tangled up while battling for rebound position inside.

Both players received technical fouls, a few words were exchanged, and that was that.

But another NBA player watching from afar sided with World Peace, and had some strong words for Ibaka that he made public via his Twitter account.

From Stephen Jackson of the San Antonio Spurs:

That’s a photo of the tweet taken from SBNation, who embedded it earlier. Jackson has since deleted it, but he’s not pretending that it never existed.

Jackson wanted to make it clear that his issue with Ibaka was a personal one, and that he wasn’t simply coming to the defense of his former teammate from his days in Indiana, Metta World Peace Ron Artest.

“FYI my Ibaka comment had nothing to do with Ron Artest,” Jackson wrote, and then posted to his Instagram page. “Last 2 times we played he ran up on me and I told him in the game next time u run up on me I’m going in ya mouth. I’m speaking for myself. For u all who wanna jump to conclusions.”

This is a very long-winded way of saying that Stephen Jackson appeared to use his social media accounts to threaten Serge Ibaka.

The league could of course fine Jackson for this, if in fact they can determine exactly what the phrase “going in ya mouth” means. It doesn’t sound pleasant, that’s for sure, and should Jackson get into it with Ibaka on the court when the Spurs and the Thunder next meet on Dec. 17, whatever ends up taking place will now be viewed as premeditated on Jackson’s part, to say the least.

    • fanofevilempire - Dec 8, 2012 at 8:10 PM

maybe he doesn’t like you too.
      hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  2. doctorfootball - Dec 8, 2012 at 6:46 PM

Take a look at that picture carefully. It looks like they’re dancing together and Jackson just stepped on Ibaka’s foot.

    • kavika6 - Dec 9, 2012 at 3:06 AM

      Nice.

  3. allen227 - Dec 8, 2012 at 6:49 PM

Glad to know Ebonics is his language of choice.

    • fanofevilempire - Dec 8, 2012 at 8:12 PM

you better watch it before he ” goes in ya mouth” to.

      hehehehehehheheheh

    • badintent - Dec 9, 2012 at 1:40 AM

      Mike Dunleavy wants an explanation.

  4. qwest12 - Dec 8, 2012 at 6:53 PM

    What college did Jackson attend?

    • Gordon - Dec 8, 2012 at 7:58 PM

      Harvard. Summa Cum Laude.

    • fanofevilempire - Dec 8, 2012 at 8:13 PM

      ghetto university.

    • louhudson23 - Dec 9, 2012 at 1:23 PM

What possible positive effect/benefit can writing as though you just crawled out of a cave provide? This isn’t cultural and it isn’t cool, badass, brave or anything else. Whether Jackson is really this ignorant or not, putting this out there for the many young men who he works to help navigate their way through life and overcoming the many obstacles they face is not helpful or useful. While Jackson has made his money ,the majority of his young charges will not have that luxury. Real life awaits them and gangster rhetoric is not particularly helpful unless you want to be a news clip on the local news recounting the latest slaughter of young black men by other young black men.Speak up,not down.

      • badintent - Dec 11, 2012 at 2:35 AM

Well said. Chicago is a case in point, the senseless shootings this year has been terrible with innocent children in the crossfire.

  5. dko83 - Dec 8, 2012 at 7:02 PM

Every English teacher in the country just shoved a pencil in their eyes… Note to athletes, talking like an uneducated clown doesn’t make you sound hard, just really dumb.

    • savvybynature - Dec 8, 2012 at 8:13 PM

And your grammatically correct statement shows that you are indeed an expert on toughness… Note to grammarians: criticizing someone for their grammar on a message board does make you sound like a judgmental d-bag.

      • dko83 - Dec 8, 2012 at 9:51 PM

And you definitely don’t sound like one of those at all…

      • savvybynature - Dec 8, 2012 at 10:14 PM

Because grammar is important on Twitter. Only dumb, uneducated people use improper grammar while tweeting.
        Right.
I’m just pretty sure you wouldn’t call Jackson an uneducated, dumb clown to his face alone in an alley is all. We’re all tough guys behind a keyboard.

      • phaden27 - Dec 8, 2012 at 11:45 PM

Really? That’s a pretty good cash settlement for one to the mouth.
And from Steph Jack? Hey, better than Kimbo.
        I’d do it.

      • michaeljordanseviltwin - Dec 9, 2012 at 8:20 AM

your use of ‘does’ is incorrect. You added an unnecessary verb. Simply say “makes you sound like a judgmental d-bag”

  6. Mr. Wright 212 - Dec 8, 2012 at 7:03 PM

I wish he would. Ibaka wanted no parts of Ron, and he acts like he’s built like that.

  7. isujames - Dec 8, 2012 at 7:17 PM

FYI, and almost everyone knows what FYI means, it ain’t for everyone to comprehend, because it’s a black thang and those involved understand what he is saying, point blank.Do you understand that????

    • fanofevilempire - Dec 8, 2012 at 8:19 PM

      Dude, that was bad.

      Brooklyn, New York.

  8. brianratm - Dec 8, 2012 at 7:19 PM

Not that there is anything wrong with going in the mouth of another man. Don’t hate

  9. mungman69 - Dec 8, 2012 at 7:25 PM

  10. mungman69 - Dec 8, 2012 at 7:27 PM

  11. sgtdiver - Dec 8, 2012 at 7:43 PM

  12. trippymane - Dec 8, 2012 at 8:16 PM

How do you idiots not know what Goin in your mouth means? Are you all like in your late 20’s or something?

  13. acdc363 - Dec 8, 2012 at 8:22 PM

I’ll be watching on the 17th

  14. fanofevilempire - Dec 8, 2012 at 8:24 PM

Forgive me but I have went in another man’s mouth.
I don’t believe I know anyone who has.
My friends, family and I have never discussed “going in another man’s mouth”.
So please enlighten a middle aged man exactly what this is.

    Thank You.

  15. fanofevilempire - Dec 8, 2012 at 8:27 PM

The first line has a mistake, I should have typed that I have never went.

    • Gordon - Dec 8, 2012 at 10:34 PM

      Sure it was.

    • Foul Dwimmerlaik - Dec 9, 2012 at 4:14 AM

It should have been: I have never gone (use past participle when using present perfect tense)…

      Sorry. Couldn’t resist.

  16. jag8r904 - Dec 8, 2012 at 8:37 PM

He is going to take his fist and forcefully place it on to his face, specifically in the oral region.

  17. ebrownwareagle - Dec 8, 2012 at 8:37 PM

Serge! Indiana vs. Detroit brawl. Pull up the footage and Watch. Stephen Jackson is a PROBLEM!

  18. jag8r904 - Dec 8, 2012 at 8:44 PM

However, Jackson would only preform this act in the event that Ibaka comes in his vicinity and commits an act that Jackson deems outside the realm of necessary basketball behavior.

  19. plymouth11 - Dec 8, 2012 at 9:39 PM

Does it really matter from a grammatical standpoint? Stephen Jackson is psychotic.

  20. bigdaddydooko - Dec 8, 2012 at 9:56 PM

Serge is going to run up on him like Stephen Jackson running into the stands after the fans.

  21. kicksave1980 - Dec 8, 2012 at 10:07 PM

Who cares what he has to say? He’s the biggest chump in the league, and it’s been that way for a long time.

  22. prosourcetalk - Dec 8, 2012 at 10:16 PM

I’m glad someone finally cleared up the meaning of “I’m goin in your mouth” because for a while there, I thought Stephen Jackson intended on using Wayne Szalinski’s electromagnetic shrink ray at halftime so that he could literally climb inside Serge Ibaka’s mouth and wreck havoc.

    • savvybynature - Dec 8, 2012 at 10:25 PM

      Honey, I shrunk the Spurs.

They all look pretty upset except Tim Duncan, whose expression has not changed.

  23. savvybynature - Dec 8, 2012 at 10:23 PM

From the picture it looks like Ibaka has already went on Jackson’s shorts.

    Malice of the Phallis.

    • Foul Dwimmerlaik - Dec 9, 2012 at 4:16 AM

      LMFAO!!!

If he’s gonna go in his mouth, I wanna know if he’s gonna go #1 or #2? Perhaps #3?!? ;0
