1. Shot went long, not short
2. KG was smart to pass Rondo the ball – Rondo had a clear path to the basket with his defender trailing him by several feet, so with Rondo’s terrific speed, he almost certainly gets a layup.
I honestly don’t think there was anyone close enough to foul Rondo if he doesn’t stop running, because the other defenders had their backs to him (freeze at 0:12) when he received the ball.

That play showed two of the Celtics (&KG &Rondo’s) weaknesses. Garnett has ALWAYS shied away from shooting at the end of games, and Rondo is hesitant to shoot- always. Rondo has been giving up layups for assists, which is dumb, and now his offensive game is off. He needs to drive and score more. Who gives a s**t how many assists one guy has, the assist total that really matters is overall team assists. Rondo also dribbles too much, which I think is one of the main reasons Ray Allen left. I like him as a player, but he is VERY flawed.

He’s right. He’s not even an average jump shooter. You go for the layup there
