His shooting hasn’t been great (he’s much more effective as a slasher) but he makes a lot of contributions that don’t show up on the stat sheet. If he winds up the odd man out, it’ll be because he and Avery bring the same thing (defense) to the table.

If you actually watched the game, you’d know that Jrue fouled out and Collins was calling play number ONE for Evan Turner all night..

i think collins is trying to make Turner (who seems like a bit of a head case) realize he has #2 pick of the draft qualities..so far he flashes star quality but does some really stupid things too

Kurt, Turner’s a gamer. Just accept it. I’m sure you’re not watching all of the Sixer games, but just remember he’s still young and he’s been slow to develop. With Iggy and Lou gone now he has more of an opportunity to assert himself. Remember too that this team was supposed to built around Bynum. Without him we’re just looking to see what we’ve got and so far In think we have a little fight in this young team.

How is Iggy doing? I haven’t seen too many articles showing how dumb Philly was for getting rid of him. But we were all just haters huh. Sixers are finding ways to win while missing two key pieces. If this team gets healthy, watch out. As far as ET last night, he hit the shot when it counted. Celtics D was all over him and he made young mistakes. These guys are learning to play together. No worries here.

Celtics and Lakers have a core of old, slow, over the hill players. The rest of the league is leaving them in the dust of middle of the pack teams. The two teams are shells of their former selves.

Kurt, I’m sure you don’t watch many Sixers games (minus the nationally televised games) so you’re probably not too familiar with Turner’s game. In no way is he a “volume shooter”. Tonight was one of those rare exceptions with Nick Young out and Holiday fouling out in OT. 26 shots is a ridiculous number for him but at times I trust the ball in his hands late in the game more than I do with Holiday. Turner’s been much more consistent this year all around and has been on a tear the last few weeks. Not to mention he has owned Boston every time they played each other the last 2 years.

He happened to hit the game winner, but wasn’t great at all. If C’s didn’t go ice cold (Jet couldn’t hit anything, which is weird for him), easy win. It’s one game, Celts win this series 4-1 when it’s going to matter.

Kurt This team was built for Bynum this year. However Turner and Young are coming along nicely. IF Bynum can play and that’s a big IF I think ET and Young flourish.

I know Turner made that last shot, but I thought he played terribly throughout the game. I can’t believe Doug Collins lets him be such a ball hog and take so many terrible shots. Is that how he is going to develop? Unbearable to watch this guy play.

It’s amazing Courtney Lee is on a Celtic court, in crunch time ! That guy does not have the intestinal fortitude to wear a Celtic uniform.

The Celts gotta upgrade that !

His numbers weren’t much different than Pierces numbers and most of the shots he took were midrange jumpers that were falling early. I commend him for shouldering the load even though he had a lousy second half.

Turner’s stat line looks worse than it was. He was forced to take some tough shots late in the shot clock in OT and came up shot on all of them minus his game winner. He also had an offensive rebound and putback blocked by his own player. Turner played a heck of a game tonight, even if his stats showed he was a chucker.
