Video: Kobe Bryant, Lionel Messi show skills in Turkish Airlines ad

Dec 6, 2012, 10:36 PM EDT

Kobe Bryant is a huge soccer fan, a huge Barcelona fan. Lionel Messi is the best goal scorer on the earth, one of the greats ever. And he plays for Barcelona.

And the two international icons were good catches by Turkish Airlines in a clever ad. (Remember Kobe came on board as a sponsor of Turkish Airlines a couple years ago and that was followed by some unhappy complaints from the Armenian community in Los Angeles).

Hat tip to SLAM.

You just don’t get the game. The level of skill in futbol is amazing.

      For me:
      European Soccer

In that order. And that’s it. For me baseball is the most boring sport.

Baseball the most boring? Get out of here! Cause watching guys run around for 90 mins doing nothing then end up tied 0-0 is so fun! Right lol your a joke. Soccer is like twilight pointless but yet millions of fans insist we just don’t get it! Lol

“Watching guys run around” is exactly what someone who “doesn’t get” a sport would say about said sport.

Why do Americans persist in calling a came in which the ball is handled for 99 percent of the game football. The actual “ball” is not even a ball. I mean I like the sport – love the sport – but it ain’t football. And if Americans don’t appreciate the real game football (“soccer” to you Americans) I suggest just watch the stars play the game then try playing it yourself. There’s a reason its the most popular sport in the world. And while I’m at it; will you all quit calling the baseball’s final series the “World Series”?
