The Lakers are a mess. That is true. They’ll most likely get better though, as the team gets healthier, and more familiar with one another. Miami went through the same thing two years ago. People saying that they were a failure, and that Wade and James could play together because they were too much a like, and that their coach wasn’t good enough. They ended up figuring it out. I’m sure the Lakers eventually will as well.

D’Antoni got to be one of the dumbest coaches every to not adjust to win the game by leaving Howard out there to get hacked like that. I love Mike D but that is just stupid and ignorant. Dwight isn’t the only one to blame, that last 5 min. worth of defense was horrendous. And in true Laker fashion, no matter what year it is, they let another nobody become a superstar (that Smith guy). They should have also went for the tie instead of Kobe taking that 3 at the end. What a crappy way to lose.

As a Warriors fan, I was not happy when the Ws were allegedly in the hunt for Howard and was thankful that they didn’t mortgage their future to get him. I think Superman is overrated. Yes, he is an amazing physical specimen. But, he can’t shoot and doesn’t have the rip-your-head-off attitude of Shaq to compensate. As Shaq said, Howard should be a 28-15 guy, but he lacks the killer instinct. All the on-paper predictions of the Lakers reaching the finals were based on all these players being in their prime, not with aging Kobe and old man Nash. And then to hire a run-and-gun coach like D’Antoni. I just don’t get it. I guess they will probably pull it together enough to make the playoffs and will probably have switched places with the Warriors by season’s end. But, look for a smack down at some point in the playoffs, which will officially signal that it’s rebuilding time for the Lakers. Nobody can stop Miami this year, unfortunately.

D’Antoni is an idiot. any fool that says the Lakers lost this game on second chance points or poor defense is covering up he fact that from the fourth to the second minute, the Lakers game was completely disrupted by hacking. as much as it takes away from the spirit of the game, Houston played the cards that gave them the best odds. Houston played a game of chess at the end, made their move, and for the second game in a row Mike D’Antoni did not adjust. At this point, teach your lessons in practice, not during the game… GET THE W!!!!

Kobe’s defense leaves a ton to be desired. As an unbiased Laker fan who’s watched many of their games, Kobe takes way too many gambles often ending up leaving a 3 pt shooter WIDE open to make the 3 and then gives an ice cold stare to a teammate essentially blaming him for the missed offensive set that he messed up on. This team still has bench problems, a lack of shooting, and most of all no identity.

For the most part, this is a timewaster at work for me. I will post at night sometimes. The weekends are pretty sporadic depending on what’s going on.

Miami has the right to brag, they are the champs and they have been to the finals since they got together.

Miami’s Fan Base has had them in the FiNALS during Pre-season every since The Announcement.
Paul you and lakerluver are one in the Same at different ends of the spectrum. When they WIN his praise for them go up and your no where to be found. agreed paulhargis, there is no way this team should be losing games like this, with that being said you do see games like this scattered throughout the season look at Miami losing to the wizards last night and Boston losing to the Cavs earlier this season… this is just happening far to often with the Lakers so far this season.

If you sit Dwight when they start the hack a Howard you lose your only defensive player. It’s a lose lose situation. The only cure for that is for D12 to start making FTs.
It’s great to see Dwight starting to call out his teammates for not helping on defense. They rotate way too slow and all suck with 1 on 1 D. . When Dwight was in Orlando his issue was the 1 on 1 perimeter defense. The rotation was solid. Not in leaker land tho. I mean laker land…

The leakers have a lot more issues to worry about than just hack a Coward.

Miami isn’t a team that has a 1-8 record in its last 2 season ending playoff series.

Miami isn’t a team whose fanbase had them placed in the finals in preseason either.

All offseason we had to listen to “how great” this team was going to be.
