OKC seems like the perfect trading partner, they got young talent ie., perry jones III.. they got 2 1st round picks… i believe? TOR and their own.. so i say if they want andy bad enough, they will have to give us PJIII, (6’11 athletic SF? and we can put him at the 4 also… ) and TOR picks, and ALSO their own pick. atleast their 2nd round pick but one 1st round pick for andy doesnt seem to sound right. andy is a superstar without the glamour.

Varejao would be an absolute huge upgrade over Perkins. The Cavs would have to get at least one first round draft pick and probably a young player as well if they were to take on Perkins’ contract in this trade.

Yeah,I was being a bit over zealous (slightly) but I still would take Zeller 101 times out of 100 over Splitter. Any day of the week.

Zeller’s PER is 10; Splitter’s is 20.
I like Zeller, but you are wrong. Trading for picks could work too though. I’m just not sure Cleveland gets who they need drafting outside the top 5. Other than Uncle Drew, they haven’t really had that much luck drafting in recent years. Splitter is a known commodity at least. Varejao is 30 and has a history of injuries, so not sure why you keep him around to mess up your draft position.

Ever hear of Paul Pierce (10th)? Kobe Bryant (13th), Steve Nash (15th)? Marc Gasol (56th), Manu Ginobili (50-something-th), Tony Parker (29th), Rajon Rondo (21st?)?, etc., etc., etc., etc. etc. ………

It’s not like CLE is gonna win a championship in the next 20-30 years anyways! You are not gonna luck into another LeBron James. Draft picks and “potential” are pretty overrated. Why pray on potential when you got a sure thing like Varejao? It’s not like you’re gauranteed to get a better player then him.

Who you gonna use those draft picks on anyways? Another Dion Waiters? Another Tristan Thompson? The best you guys might do is draft someone, who in 5-6 years, can average 14-14…….wait…..YOU ALREADY GOT THAT!!!!!!!!

Even if you max out as a perrienial 7-8th seed for half a decade and get bounced out the 1st every year, WHO CARES!!? At least you made the post-season! At least your crappy city generates ADDITIONAL REVENUE!!! Might even be a slightly better/attractive destination to 2nd tier FAs if you guys put up a fight and even make it to the playoffs by the skin of your teeth as the lil’ engine that could instead of just bending over and taking it, praying to “Suck for Luck”!

That would be a horrible trade. Plus Zeller is better then Splitter, NOW. Zeller going to be pretty good. he’ll for sure be an overpaid 8-10 million dollar C in the L in another 5 or so years when his rookie contract runs out.

If the Cavs can get a lottery pick and maybe a decent young player in return they should do it. Andy is awesome but he deserves to be on a contender and doesn’t fit the youth movement in Cleveland.

A top 8 pick would be OK, but what about getting a guy like Splitter and a pick or Euro prospect? Splitter is an above average legit center now, which is not an easy thing to come by.
Top big prospects go top 3 in every draft, and Cleveland needs one seeing as how they already decided to build around the top PG prospect in the league.

Im still undecided about trading this guy. He is the Hardest worker in THE NBA. He has an endless amount of energy. And even his jumper is looking great. But i see why he could be traded. My only hope is we get a high draft pick preferably top 8.

Varejao for Perkins would be ideal, with Westbrook and KD taking shots, all he had to do is rebound till the end. He also knows how to move without the ball specially under the rim which is more enticing with how the OKC plays.

But again, Cavs would be crazy if they take this without picks included.

(Joel Anthony for Varejao would also be great haha!)

Malt u say that cleveland has no clue how to run a team lmao. We are such a young team right now and with varejao having this breakout season why not get max value outta him by making a trade for lottery picks. The last thing we as cleveland fans want is to rush this team along hoping to get the 8th seed in the playoffs jus to get bounced out in the first round. That doesnt help when your drafting in the middle of the draft where there is no franchise/impact player. So if hes traded and we lose a bunch we get a better pick. Which means a better chance to get that franchise/impact player. When is the last time u seen a dwade lebron or a kyrie drafted later than the 10. So Malt you obviously have no idea about how teams in small markets are built. Do u see dwight signing here in cleveland anytime soon.(Not happening) Or maybe we should jus hope lebron comes back in 5 years or whenever(i dont want him back). No we have to build through the draft and trades! You are clueless about us Malt

There’s a durability question with Varejao that might make Oklahoma City, or anyone thinking about dealing lottery picks wary of doing so,

Why would any team bad enough to have a lottery pick be considering trading that pick for a 30 year old that is good but not good enough to turn around a team?
