I love Rondo – but even given all he’s already accomplished, if he can learn to control his emotions (which often hurts his team) and channel that energy constructively (which he often fails to do) he will be the BEST point guard in the NBA that he would like everyone to think he is.

Currently that’s not who he is – and I say that as a Celtics fan

Take his game to the next level? He’s been on that level. All he has to prove is that he can get through a hard foul without raging, that’s about it. Although I’ll chalk this latest one up to a bad night because when DWade dislocated his $#%&^ elbow he handled that pretty well. He’s polarizing, I get that, but all this Rondo hate is just biased scrubs wishing you he was on their team. Aside from Chris Paul, there is NO ONE better.

Rondo is not a dirty player but he does use poor judgement. He is a great player with unique skills and he never backs down. The bigger the game the better he plays.

What Rondo did was stupid and it was also harmless. If you want to talk about dirty players, start with Dwyane Wade. What Wade did in the playoffs to the Indiana Pacer who was was on a fast break was worse in every way and if he was a lesser player, a likely suspension. Not to mention Wade’s taking Rondo down and dislocating his elbow and breaking Kobe Bryant’s nose.

C’mon guys…being 26 is still young by NBA standards, people already question his leadership just by what happened…the kid has got a ring before Lebron did…

Also, his leadership/influence is not only on the court but off the court as well…his very own teammates stood for him for pete’s sake…

I’d take him any time if I was a team owner…maturity? remember allen iverson’s stubborness to come of the bench even in his 30′s? Jordan had run ins as well on the court but we still love him

This kid has talent. he made a mistake? yes. he is moving on with it…and so should we

Ainge was pretty confident trading Perkins was the right move to make too. You know…..that guy that helped his new team to the finals last year?

Ainge shouldn’t be struggling to wonder if a VETERAN can control himself. Rondo isnt a rookie, he’s a focal point of the same team he’s been apart of. He’s the same player they drafted that was a headcase then that broke up the big 3, and guess what he’s still a head case.

Minus Rondo, I like the Celtics.

Rondo isn’t a 19 year old kid, fresh out of his 1 year of college, trying to find his place in the NBA.

He’s 26 years old, and he has been in the NBA for over 6 years.

Consider this – he’s just 1 year younger than Chris Paul and LeBron James. I cut the young guys slack, but I don’t see any reason why Rondo deserves the benefit of the doubt.

As you said – he’s been on a team with multiple Hall of Famers and he has a highly respected coach – there are no excuses for him to not “get it” by now.

How could Rondo or his team have benefitted from him engaging in a petty shoving match in front of millions of viewers?What positive outcome could have possibly been accomplished by Rajon pushing and scratching Humphries like a couple of 5th grade girls at recess? but as a person hes a hot steamy pile of you know what
