Rajon Rondo and Kris Humphries ejected after altercation spills into the stands (VIDEO)

Nov 28, 2012, 9:02 PM EST

Late in the second quarter of Wednesday night’s game in Boston between the Celtics and the Nets, Kris Humphries committed a hard foul on Kevin Garnett, with the Nets leading by 16 points at the time.

Rajon Rondo took exception to the contact, a hit that landed above the shoulders and knocked Garnett to the ground. Rondo immediately engaged with Humphries, initiating a melee that extended off the floor and a couple of rows deep into the stands.

When all was said and done, Rondo and Humphries were ejected, as was Gerald Wallace, who received his second technical foul of the night for his involvement. Garnett also received a technical foul, but was allowed to remain in the game.

This was 100 percent on Rondo, and he can expect a suspension to come down from the league office for instigating this entire thing. It’ll be at least one game, but multiple games would be appropriate considering the unwarranted attack on Humphries for what wasn’t even a flagrant foul that he committed against one of Rondo’s teammates.

One other interesting note to pass along, and that’s the fact that Rondo’s much-celebrated assists streak — the one that was getting him close to breaking the all-time record for consecutive games with 10 assists or more held by Magic Johnson — is now finished. Rondo had recorded three assists in 18 first-half minutes, but that’ll be all for him on this night.

Rondo was just mad that Humphries rejected his garbage earlier in the game.

  2. southbeachtalent - Nov 28, 2012 at 10:30 PM

Punk move, seems be the norm with that fool. Ruined his streak, what a f@ckin dummy!

Bring back the days of the “Bad Boys”. The NBA is soft now. Hockey players beat each other to a bloody pulp and the fans cheer like crazy. But NBA players get into a pushing match and they get suspended for a week. The 80’s were the good old days. We had Rambis getting clothes lined, Laimbeer knocking MJ on his butt and Mahorn and Sir Charles going toe to toe. Rondo is a throwback player. He was supposed to stand up for his teammate!!

oh get over yourself. tough physical basketball is not a menace to society.

how about the fact that garnett is taller then alot of people in the league…hes listed at 6’11 but hes really about 7’0

  5. lakerluver - Nov 28, 2012 at 11:01 PM

The only player I guarantee will eventually where the PURPLE AND GOLD is Kevin Love…..I said I’d love to see Rondo in a LAKERS jersey. That’s much different than a guarantee. More like wishful thinking. I appreciate great, winning players. What’s wrong with that?

    • dannymac17 - Nov 29, 2012 at 5:05 PM

      Your stupidity astounds me.

  6. WatchThis - Nov 28, 2012 at 11:05 PM

Nice. There’s kids right on the edge of the court.

  7. lakerluver - Nov 28, 2012 at 11:05 PM

Back in 08 KG should’ve signed with the LAKERS. At least now he’d have 3 rings.

    • dannymac17 - Nov 29, 2012 at 5:10 AM

why do you make such stupid statements?

    • lakerchuy - Nov 29, 2012 at 2:57 PM

well he is a dirty celtic now, so we dont even need to talk about this.

  8. acdc363 - Nov 28, 2012 at 11:05 PM

  9. isujames - Nov 28, 2012 at 11:30 PM

@ ^ Yea their both la la land fanatical queers.

    • dko83 - Nov 28, 2012 at 11:36 PM

What are you even trying to say? Whatever it is, you said it poorly. They are = they’re, You’ll pick that up when you go back for that GED.

  10. dmaq1 - Nov 29, 2012 at 12:46 AM

Even more respect for Rondo after this

    • dko83 - Nov 29, 2012 at 2:04 AM

I know right. Ignore the thumbs up/thumbs down crap from PBT. Gotta realize 90% Lakers fans.

    • bahia2 - Nov 29, 2012 at 6:56 AM

It’s called protecting your team mate. Most players would love to have a man like Rondo on their team.

      • Iraelite - Nov 29, 2012 at 11:46 AM

It’s called… Getting owned by the men-in-black on your home court and getting frustrated – the acting like a tough guy – pushing an opponent then praying your teamates bail you out.

    • cmehustle - Nov 29, 2012 at 7:27 AM

Even less respect for Rondo after this. Lol dude that wasnt even a real foul! Flopping @ss Garnett flops, because thats what he does best at this point, and Rondo chooses then to show some fight? And for some reason the refs choose to throw out our players instead of the flopper? Well it feels real good to be a Nets fan going into beantown and dominate.

  11. phillyrox - Nov 29, 2012 at 1:20 AM

That wasn’t even a hard foul. Rondo is the biggest punk in the league.

  12. redstar504 - Nov 29, 2012 at 1:31 AM

Rondo is a punk thinking back to last year when he chucked a ball at a reff. This is really him sticking up for a teammate that is a wannabe bad boy all bark no bite KG. This was hardly a brawl suspensions are not necessary the NBA is getting as soft as Lakerluver. Let em play!!

  13. paulwoodsby - Nov 29, 2012 at 3:29 AM

This brought a smile to my face. Punk’s streak was broken by his own bad attitude. Too bad he tied Stockton first.

  14. abchome - Nov 29, 2012 at 6:32 AM

That’s not even a really hard foul.

  15. ebrownwareagle - Nov 29, 2012 at 7:55 AM

    @cmehustle

You speak like a true COWARD! A real Cyber Thug!

  16. paulhargis53 - Nov 29, 2012 at 8:46 AM

badintent: Those are just 2 of his several names. He also goes by bozosforall and maddog911.

    Pretty pathetic huh?

    • badintent - Nov 29, 2012 at 3:59 PM

Thanks for the update. You da man ! Is Lakechuz also lakeluver ?

  17. paulhargis53 - Nov 29, 2012 at 8:56 AM

Look gang. Lakerslurper is making fun of Boston losing to a 1st place team. Meanwhile, the lakers struggle against sub.500 teams and are losing to the likes of Sacremento.

By the way, Garnett didn’t sign in L.A. BECAUSE of Kobe, look it up. He didn’t want any part of the circus going on there.

Also, you do more than appreciate good players. You’re a 38 year old hero worshipper. A guy your age swooning over large men like a little girl is psychotic.

Under your other persona, bozosforall, go back to imitating my humor. Your attempts at using your own humor on this thread was painful to watch.

  18. richwizl - Nov 29, 2012 at 10:18 AM

I’m just disappointed that Rajon didn’t kick him in the nuts, but I give him a lot of credit for standing up for his team mate against a far bigger man.

  19. paulhargis53 - Nov 29, 2012 at 8:58 PM

bad, not sure, very well could be.

He certainly has had a lot of “supporters” come out of the woodwork lately.

Kind of odd for a guy who has so many down thumbs on his posts, don’t you think.
He must be living off everyone else to have that much time for all these names.
