Yes, communist. The idea that everybody should share the shots and points should be distributed equally. Then, maybe the winning team can give its trophy to the losing team so that nobody gets the impression that there are winners and losers…

The guy scored 138 points. That is an impressive individual achievement in a winning effort… something to be celebrated… Unless you don’t believe in individual achievement.

The kid also had ZERO assists…. He jacked up 80 more shots than the rest of his teammates COMBINED. Pass the damn ball.

138 points is a big number… But as Coach Popovich stated last week.. “Hero ball is boring”

The other kid that scored 70 points I think is more impressive he went 34 for 44

And the coaches should be embarrassed U suppose to teach kids the right way to play sportsmanship

If I was coach of losing team I would of called a timeout explained to them they are rubbing it in our face n start putting hard fouls and him or just fouled him every time till my team fouled out just to end the game

I saw Loyola Marymount College back in the day when Hank Gather ( bless his soul ) was scoring over 32 a game and the team was averaging 150 ! They had Paul Westhead as their coach ( Yes, the same Laker coach), and they were a blast to watch. Met GM Jerry West scouting Gathers.He talked to me for over 10 minutes about West Virgina and life in general. Classy guy. He got screw over by Buss too !

Funny you mention rec league as that is all I play now and occassionally I will put up 20(and no I’m not trying to say that is impressive by any stretch) but if I had to suit up in a meaningful game even I would not allow this guy to score 138 points. The announcer said before the game started that Grinnell was going to go for the points in a game record and points in a half record. That kid averaged a field goal attempt every 22 seconds, there is nothing competitive about that.

This was a total setup. They were obviously gunning for the record. I just can’t believe so many blogs and websites are taking this serious. It was an exhibition game between a NCAA D3 school and a really, really bad NCCAA D2 school. I can’t think of a good comparison other than maybe a NCAA division 1 school gunning for a record against a NCAA division 3 school that can’t beat other division 3 schools.
