Andrew Bynum confirms he had knee setback due to bowling

Well, at least he owned up to it instead of coming up with some lame excuse. That’s something.

Andrew Bynum confirmed to the media Sunday he thinks his latest setback in recovery from a knee injury happened when he went bowling. Ugh.

From the twitter account of John Finger of CSNPhilly.com.

While the original target had been around Christmas, there is no timetable for Andrew Bynum’s debut as a 76er. It could well be into 2013.

Philly fans, sorry. This is just kind of who Andrew Bynum is. He dazzles you with stretches on the court, frustrates you at other times and often just seems immature with his decision making. The hope is with time the decisions get smart and — as he did last season — the times he dazzles far outweigh the times he takes a mental vacation.

Or, goes bowling.

Just a reminder, Bynum is an unrestricted free agent after this season. The Sixers don’t want to let him walk — they traded Andre Iguodala to get him — but are you going to offer him a max deal? What’s his value? It could be an interesting summer of negotiations for Bynum.
