Kendrick Perkins, Zach Randolph have words near locker room after ejection

It wasn’t a fight. But it was close.

All through the Grizzlies win over the Thunder Wednesday, Zach Randolph and Kendrick Perkins were going at each other. It was physical, and there was plenty of trash talk.

With 2:05 left in the game, they lined up across each other across the free throw lane as Russell Westbrook shot and the verbal taunts didn’t end (with talk of fighting after the game near the team bus), and the referees had enough. Both were ejected from the game.

But that wasn’t the end of it, reports the Oklahoman.

After the two players were separated, Perkins ran off the court in front of the Thunder bench and into a hallway, where he had another altercation with Randolph outside the postgame interview room next to the Thunder locker room.

The players were separated by Oklahoma City police officers. People in the postgame interview area heard something being slammed against the door.

Perkins wouldn’t discuss it after the game. Zach Randolph downplayed it.

“It wasn’t nothin’. It was a good, tough, hard-fought game. It was competitive, just out there playing, two physical teams that want to win, a lot of emotions flying, so just part of basketball.”

Arena security decided not to take any further action following the incident in the hallway. We’ll see if the league office feels the same way.

Perkins is such a fake tough guy. All he does it stare people down and get in their face. He has negative offensive value, no one is scared of him, and his only “good” trait is that he is big and plays ok defense. If he wasnt on a team with great talent, he would just be a huge d-bag no one knew about.

I can’t wait for OKC to amnesty him and then someone sign him barely above the minimum.

what would the authorities do? arrest them for arguing? getting into each others faces and cursing? not one hand was lifted during the altercation

Memphis is a very good team…Kinda tired of K. Perk trying to be a bully. But I guess when you have no other skills you have to play the enforcer role…Okc misses the versatility Harden added to their squad. For my LAKERS sake I’m glad they traded him.

I’m not usually a fan of NBA refs, but they were right to eject these guys.

ESPN just played the audio – these players were challenging each other to a fight, specifically by the team buses outside the arena, and vowing to beat the sh*t out of each other.

Gotta get those guys off the court before a shove leads a punch, and that punch leads to a brawl.

I’m feeling about $50 K in total, something about next time 5 game auto suspension, some nice techs put on their tech list , and Stern wagging his finger. And Billy Hunter asking,” why ? . Just ask my brother and son in laws for the tape from my office.”

The malice at the Palace was the best thing that ever happened in the NBA.

I got my money on Z Bo. Just ask Ruben Patterson. Perkins ain’t really a tough guy, it’s an act. You can just tell Z Bo wasn’t F’n around. Would have folded Perk & done us ALL a HUGE favor. Finally shut him up!!!!!

Randolph wants to fight everyone. He should join the gang that cousins and jennings have started. They’re both punks, but randolph is worse.
