Video: Eric Bledsoe rejects Dwyane Wade’s dunk attempt

Nov 14, 2012, 11:45 PM EDT

Dwyane Wade was a game-time decision for Wednesday’s game in L.A. against the Clippers, and as this highlight shows on an endless loop the next 24 hours, he may end up wishing he sat this one out.

Jokes, people. But Eric Bledsoe‘s ridiculous block of Wade’s flying dunk attempt on the fast break is worthy of all the buzz, as Bledsoe cleanly gets all ball here, getting in front of Wade and leaping high enough to make this stellar defensive play.

Wade is one of the all-time greats in terms of shot-blocking shooting guards, so once the competitive juices stop flowing and he gets a look at the highlights, it’s likely he’ll have a strong appreciation for Bledsoe’s incredibly athletic effort.

I like Van Gundy’s comment at the end: “great attack by Wade.” Lol, not saying it was a bad attack, but certainly not great, as he surely assumed he would be able to easily dunk over Bledsoe.

This kid is seriously talented. It’s time for him to move on now and start elsewhere. Possibly Hornets??

I do agree. From everything I heard he was a heckuva PG in high school and sat behind the All-World (college) John Wall at UK. I think a TON of GMs would be well served to start focusing on PLAYER FREAKIN DEVELOPMENT like the Thunder do. I fully expect Perry Jones and Jeremy Lamb to be second ties (headed towards first tier) players in 2015. So many of these guys conform to orthodoxy and have the mistaken belief that it’s 1995 and guys should come in ready from college. The think that sucks with Bled is that Chauncey (and rightfully so) will take minutes from him when he returns.

I wish the Wolves would get him…if not a PG he could make a very nice non-pejorative Combo Guard.
