Well said and interpreted in regards to the Lakers and PH. For the life of me I couldn’t figure out with the pieces they have why the Princeton is necessary. They’d have been ten times better off turning to a playground/all-star game type of offense. Why the need for complication? Princeton and the triangle are both useful offenses when you don’t have a solid point guard that can create the necessary space just by doing what they do. Unless you are a guru of either offense (and by guru I am pretty much explicitly implying Phil Jackson in the triangle) then you have no business running either with this type of a lineup.

Sloan would accept for two obvious reasons:

1) He wants a ring, and
2) He made Stockton/Malone household names while running other teams into the ground with the pick-and-roll.

Now with Nash and Howard or Gasol, Sloan could revive that dominating offense. This would simplify things for the Lakers on that end of the court, resulting in a dramatic drop in turnovers, thus cutting down on the oppositions’ fast-break opportunities.

Yes, it is the coaching. When you have the lineup the Lakers possess and you choose to bring in Eddie Jordan in order to run the offense you had in Cleveland, despite the obvious fact Nash has made the pick-and-roll work very well for years, one can only conclude that it is indeed the coaching.

Keep enjoying the “panic and angst,” you certainly seem to be the type that lives for others’ failures, the kind of person that hasn’t got the balls to take any risks of your own.

Have you even watched the Lakers play? If so, you wouldn’t discount the fact it’s the coaching. He has no set rotations, holds nobody accountable to run his sets, offense or defense. Here is the perfect example, the front office goes out and signs Jodie Meeks to backup Kobe. Everyone thinks it’s a great pickup. Where is Meeks? At the end of the bench watching Ron Artest playing backup 2. Enough said.

Time for Mike Brown to become a really well paid scout, just like Rudy T.

What makes you think Sloan would accept?

He didn’t want to deal with Deron and his ego, why would he want to deal with the Kobe/Dwightmare issue?!

It’s not the coaching. It’s the old starting lineup not meshing well and a crap bench getting outscored. In Utah it was like 38 to 12 in bench points. Those aren’t exact #’s, but its a wide margin.

I do love seeing the panic and angst though.
Just remember. Kobe picked this offense.
