So far no one has given another eyewitness account of what truly transpired. What was said and how was it said. A gag order? Maybe.

You’re right in general. But you have to remember, these players are being paid millions of dollars to provide entertainment to the fans. Conversely, people at the stadium are paying big bucks for the chance to cheer (or boo) the players.

Doing anything offensive or aggressive to a fan is a no-no for players. Even just swearing at them. It’s a slippery slope, and it’s good that the league is quick to nip that kind of behaviour in the bud.

All the years that I have known Steve Blake, he doesn’t do that, yes maybe he shoot like crap and don’t know why we got him and let fisher go but what is done is done. He is not that type of guy to do that but in the other hand the fans expect them not to miss shot and to win the game, it can’t be all perfect, we are just learning to play together, so you will have a bad game and you going to be upset.

For me, it would involve some extra unsavory comments to say the very least. Something like “Hey idiot! Knock down those freakn open shots! I didn’t pay good money to see such awful shooting.”

The fan was heckling him, plain and simple. Sure, Blake has to hit the open shots. But he knows that. He doesn’t need a fan to yell that to him. I’m sure Blake heard it enough from his coaches.

$25,000 for snapping at a fan seems a bit egregious.

Heck, if it was Kobe, the fan would have probably been like, “Ohhh, Kobe just looked at me int he eye and yelled at me! *Swoon*”. Let’s be honest. Kobe wouldn’t have been fined if he did the same thing. The league would have just said “He was showing passion.”

The thing is, what was bad with what Jackson said? BLAKE NEEDS TO HIT THOSE OPEN SHOTS. It IS Blake’s job to hit those open shots. Where is the insult there? What was so offensive with such a remark?
