Video: Doug Collins is not impressed with J.R. Smith’s huge dunk

Nov 5, 2012, 10:29 PM EDT

My favorite part of this video is not J.R. Smith‘s dunk, although it is impressive and powerful. It is not Smith going over looking to say some magical words to the fans in Philly who just witnessed said dunk. It is not Pablo Prigioni getting in the air then getting bailed out with the 25-foot back pass.

Really, it is Sixers coach Doug Collins doing his full McKayla Maroney I am not impressed impression afterwards.

Frankly, Collins shouldn’t be impressed with much his team did the last 48 hours.

I was. And I was watching live on MSG.

Collins knows he has bigger things to worry about. Other than Holiday and Young, the Sixers don’t have many good players right now. Bet they can’t wait for Bynum to play.

He shouldn’t be. We saw Iguodala do that exact dunk every night for the past eight years.

Yeah. And he also saw Iguodala continuously clank jump shots because he thought he was Ray Allen. One of the reasons it was so easy to trade him.

Wow, clank jump shots…. that also sounds like JR Smith

      • doctorfootball - Nov 6, 2012 at 3:28 AM

Except JR Smith is a streak shooter. Which means at any moment he can go 1 for 8 then go 7 for 8. Iguodala is on a hot streak when he makes 2 out of 10 jump shots.

Don’t compare JR Smith to Iguodala. That’s disrespectful to Iguodala. JR Smith is a inefficient, one-dimensional player. He’s also a punk who’s had issues with coaches in the past. He’s one of those guys that many teams should consider avoiding, even if he were to play for free.

Is Boston still in the NBA ? Who’s coaching them, Bobby Valentine ?

why is getting a easy dunk reason to act like you just won the championship? and what was so impressive about that dunk? nobody was guarding him and it was just a run of the mill slam. certainly no reason to carry on like it meant more than the 2 points he got from it. I am a pacer fan so I do not care about either team but just do not see what was so impressive about a dunk any high school kid could make.
