Quote of the Day: Sheed is the new Scalabrine

Nov 3, 2012, 8:01 AM EDT

“I accept my Brian Scalabrine role. I’m cool with it.”

—Knicks big man Rasheed Wallace, who has played a very limited role so far this season, as reported by Jeff Zillgitt of the USA Today.

He is referring to popular Celtics and Bulls bench guy Brian Scalabrine (now with Comcast SportsNet New England). Wallace, who has been trying to work his way back into shape, played 3:06 of mop-up duty against the Heat. And with Amare Stoudemire and Marcus Camby out, that Mike Woodson is not playing Wallace in those minutes tells you pretty much all you need to know. But Sheed is still quotable like few others.

so when they say “very limited role do far this season” they’re referring to the only game the Knicks have had this year which was last night then?

Scalabrine didn’t get the minutes necessary to be a temperamental cry baby like Sheed.

Kurt Helin is the Brian Scalabrine of sports journalists.
