“It doesn’t look good” for Nash to play for Lakers Friday

Nov 2, 2012, 3:12 PM EDT

Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike Brown (R) chats to Steve Nash of Canada during their loss to the Dallas Mavericks in their NBA basketball game in Los Angeles Reuters

Officially Steve Nash is still listed as doubtful and is a game-time decision for the Lakers when they take on the Clippers Friday night.

But if you just want to go ahead and move him into the “not going to play” column, go ahead. Nobody is going to blame you.

Here is what Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times tweeted from shootaround:

“More Steve Blake” is just not something you hear Lakers fans say. Ever.

Nash ended up with a pretty bad contusion on his shin from an incidental run in with Blazers point guard Damian Lillard. This is not something serious, but early in the season it’s not what you push your 38-year-old point guard to play through, either. Blake and Chris Duhon will get more run. Dwight Howard offered himself up for the job, tweets Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News.

Dwight, that wasn’t not funny. Just so we’re clear.

but he said, that WASN’T not funny. i’m not sure if this double negative was on purpose. am i missing something?

0-3. I like the sound of that for the “5 future hall of famers”.

It’s going to be more like “5 future sidelined by injuries.”

    P.S. lakerluver, TICK TOCK……

  3. paulhargis53 - Nov 2, 2012 at 4:25 PM

    Sellah:

    _Kobe bad foot
    Howard Back
    Nash shin /back

    3/5 hurting already….matter of time…

    • sellahh - Nov 2, 2012 at 4:52 PM

Matter of time until what? Nash has a chronic bad back, nothing new here. Howard had a surgery and he still is dropping 30 and 15 in his second game of the RS. Kobe is immortal.
But i love how you’re saying 3 out of 5, as in including Artest

Lakers on pace to go to 0-82 baby

  6. cpcfan - Nov 2, 2012 at 4:55 PM

This game will come down to the play of Deandre Jordan and his ability to stay out of foul trouble early..Hollins and Turiaf will come in for plenty of hack time on Dwight..

    • sellahh - Nov 2, 2012 at 4:58 PM

15-19 from the freethrow line, man.

  7. slumdog66 - Nov 2, 2012 at 5:10 PM

    Clips boy! Lakers are done.

  8. paulhargis53 - Nov 2, 2012 at 5:29 PM

If they keep playing Howard and Nash 35- 40)a night, they WILL break down.

It’s plain stupid to do that, but therecis no choice- the bench is atrocious.

0-3 after tonight. Paul is going to kill Blake.

  9. buffalo65 - Nov 2, 2012 at 5:34 PM

Howard is a not a future HOFer. He is a train wreck waiting to happen.

  10. allthewaylive1 - Nov 2, 2012 at 5:51 PM

If the Lakers loose tonight, everyone, including the Lakers, will know that their problem is more than “meshing”…

  11. paulhargis53 - Nov 2, 2012 at 6:01 PM

    When. Not if.

Have you ever seen a dude who’s not even a LAKERS fan spend his whole day-every day-commenting on LAKERS stories? Talk about obsessed!! I swear the dude gets “off” on this! It’s unbelievable!! He searches, and searches until he sees “anything” that pertains to the LAKERS, then with his little “friend” in one hand and his iphone3 in the other he feverishly types away!! I’ve kept track of some of the stupid crap this dude has posted over the last few months. Check out these “gems”—”Nash will not be a LAKER”, “Dwight will not be a LAKER”, “If the LAKERS get Nash and Dwight they will win the championship (ok, actually he is right on this one)”, “Dwight won’t be ready to start the season”, “Dwight is damaged goods”, the LAKERS won’t be able to contend after Kobe retires”, “Dwight will not stay with the LAKERS”, etc., etc., etc.!!! This dude knows nothing about the NBA. In fact, I’d venture to guess he doesn’t even watch sports very often. He’s nothing more than a casual Celtics fan who’s ONLY real purpose for posting on this site is to take shots at the LAKERS. He posts like one comment on a Celtics story but spends all day talking about the LAKERS. The sad thing is, he’s not alone!! There’s others like him. However, he’s the worst of them all. As soon as the LAKERS clinch a trip to the Conf. Finals you better be gone, sir!!

But I digress. When your favorite team has little to no chance of winning a title I guess the only thing you clowns can do is hate on a team that can win the title. G O L A K E R S !!!

Lakers Suck Again! 0-3 on pace to be 0-82

  15. silveradonguyen - Nov 3, 2012 at 3:31 AM

    Laker bench suck

  16. paulhargis53 - Nov 3, 2012 at 9:39 AM

You know what’s more pathetic? A guy that keeps track of the things said in a post by another guy, who a long time ago told him he was just posting to elicit a response.

A guy who has vowed repeatedly to ignore this guy he rages against, but he is just too small minded to do it. A guy that judges his intelligence and well being by the thumbs on his comments.

    lakerslurper, your days are numbered.
