Offering him a max contract couldn’t be done. I don’t care how much TV $ L.A. gets, going over the luxury tax incurs penalties. They may get another player to go there, but then they stuck with a crappy bench-sound familiar? It should. Its what has been going on the last 3 years now in L.A.

CP3 going to the lakers after this season IS out of the question by a long shot. If the Clippers finish with a better record than the lakers or advance further in the playoffs, he would have absolutely no reason to change teams. The Clippers have a much greater chance of having the better record or advancing further, or both, than the lakers have of getting Chris Paul after the season.

What if Nash retires after this season? Don’t act like CP3 joining the LAKERS can’t happen, my friends. After all, Blake G. was a Clip before CP3 got there AND the team was in Los Angeles. But not once was it reported that CP3 actually WANTED to play for the Clips!!

See the thing is Kobe is making 30 mil next year, add Pau’s 19 mil, Steve Nash’s 9 mil, Meta’s 7 mil player option (no way he is getting that on the open market, so he is def resigning) plus blake, duhon, and jordan hill at 3.5 mil each. What you get is a team that is so far over the cap, they cant sign free agents.

Oh yah all those numbers dont include dwights salary next year. Pretty clear to see the Lakers have to make the current roster work.

Probably at this point would be smart to trade pau for some assets while he still have value. Otherwise it looks like its going to be tough for the lakers to get Dwight some help next off season.

As “presently constructed” the LAKERS can’t offer him a max deal. But hypothetically speaking let’s say the LAKERS move Pau or amnesty him, and trade Nash to say Toronto next season, could you see CP3 in PURP & GOLD then?!! If you’re CP3 and you have your choice between the LAKERS franchise with Dwight and Kobe or the Clips with two one-dimensional highlight reel players and a tradition of losing? The Clips will always be 2nd fiddle to the LAKERS. It may not happen but it is not out of the question by a long shot! If you think it is you haven’t been following the LAKERS.

Yes, because with Kobe’s monster contract still in play, Dwight getting a max contract, and the fact that you will still have to go get shooters, you’ll be able to get CP3′s max contract as well. Cause that makes sense. CP3 will resign with the Clippers, or go to NY.

Nash is actually quite renowned for his soccer playing even going as far as to put on a celebrity/charity soccer tourney every year. im sure hes taken a few kicks to the shins in his day. if its enough to take him out of a game it must be painful. we’ve all seen pics of him coming back into games a bloody mess with bandages and stitches before.
