Photo of the day: Amar’e Stoudemire’s car is underwater, courtesy of Hurricane Sandy

Oct 31, 2012, 3:10 PM EDT

Amar’e Stoudemire is getting further away from his return to the basketball court for the Knicks, but even if he was ready, we’re unsure how he’d even make it out of his neighborhood. That’s because his Range Rover is almost completely submerged, thanks to flooding caused by Hurricane Sandy in various parts of the Northeast.

Stoudemire himself posted the photo to his Instagram page (follow him there @amareisreal).

Stoudemire isn’t the only one dealing with issues like this, of course, so the league has decided to postpone Thursday night’s nationally televised game in Brooklyn between the Nets and the Knicks.

Given the photographic evidence of how things look out there, the decision was probably the only one to make.

Pretty sure he can afford to pay for his damages from sandy.

Pretty sure his insurance will pay for damages…but not 100%, cause multimillion dollars athletes seem to forget these kind of things.

Always sad when an incredibly impressive specimen, that truly warranted large sums of money, is slowly reduced to being of no value.

      Ohhhhh…. you mean his car…

It’s not so bad here in the city — unless you live downtown like he does — but Jersey, Westchester and Long Island got FULLY DESTROYED in spots.

    • badintent - Oct 31, 2012 at 5:24 PM

Screw Jersey, all those beach side homes built by Mob $$,extortion, pimping , numbers( sports betting ), drugs, etc. Karma. They destroyed small business in Manhattan, Queens, Bronx, Brooklyn with shakedowns, loan sharking, stealing, truck hijacking, etc. Karma

Not everyone out there is of that cloth, although I do agree — MANY of them are.

I feel the way you do about the bigots from Broad Channel and Breezy Point. Hopefully when rebuilding occurs, the bigotry doesn’t come back to that area.

@badintent Yeah the money they were taking was so they could pay the bosses back in New York retard
