All & all I must say I can find something to agree about in virtually every post with exception of southbeachnotalent.

One game yes. Time to gel yes. Learning new system yes. However, if you include last season the Fak-Lakers are 0-12 or 0-13 I believe.

Bottom line is regardless of the offense Princeton or otherwise the Mavs were able to contain Nash and penetrate on Gasoft. Especially loved the use of the medulla oblongata by Brand in route to a score on Gasoft however. Face it, teams around the league will use this tape as a "how too" beat the Lakers video and play it ad nauseum throughout the season.

Can they adjust? Perhaps. Although it was the first time in Nash's career he played over 27 minutes and finished with under 10pts & 7-8 assists (someone check that).

Face the facts, this team either rebounds or disappears into obscurity along with 75% of their fan base. Which will it be? I will bet the latter. But who am I to judge?

LLS!!!! I Knew all the "TROLLS" would have fun with this one. They shoudn't have lost to the Mav's,@ 100%. So the fact that they didn't have Dirk or kaman, only make's it that much more embarrassing. Their is absolutely NO EXCUSE for us too lose to them.....EVER.!!!!!!! It's only 1 game, but from what I have seen so far. That new Offense of Mike Brown's looks like the DRIZZLING SH**S!!!!!!!!! It may work in the long run( I have my DOUBTS) but only time will tell. Give the Mav's some credit also, they out played us IN A BIG WAY!!!!!!!

Two distinct views:

1) Lakers get beat by a lowly Mavs team, yet it will simply take time for the Lakers to get on track.
2) Celtics get beat by Miami and clearly Boston is not in Miami's class.

How does one game determine any of this? Talk about medial overreaction, especially on the Celtics loss. Of course, the media claimed the Mavs would be the Washington General's too. hahaha...what is that saying, don't believe everything you read!

Kobe had the ball in his hands too much.
It isn't the offense stupid, its players not adhering to its principles.

Kob got his points, no assists....

This isn't going to work out. The bench is D league material.
Now, Delonte West is going to solve the issues? lmao!!

That was hard to watch.

Mike Brown just needs to abort that hideous offense, plus it's sucking all the fun out of Steve Nash. Nash looked like a regular dude out there, Derek Fisher could have done the same thing. That is NOT the kind of offense we need to be running with the kind of personel we have. I was not happy when I first heard we were going to go in that direction, while I seen a lot of fellow Laker fans say it was going to be a good thing. Now seeing it for a full regular season game with all our parts getting major time I am even more upset that this is what we plan on running. FML.

It WILL get better. The team WILL figure out the offense. Somewhere down the line. But we will NOT maximize our potential if we keep running that garbage, crap offense! We need to let Steve Nash run free, otherwise wtf are we doing paying him 10 million for? Plus our defense, wtf was that!? How we have all those defensive players and let a Mavs team missing their 2 best players and a roster full of guys who had promise but now have much to prove (Collison, Mayo, Carter, Brand, Wright, CURRY (for God's sakes!!), Beaubois...) just straight CLOWN us like that!??

It's easy to say "blame the coach" when things go wrong, and most of the times you would be wrong, but what should I think? That was pathetic. We got 5 guys that all have been the Face of the franchise at one time or another and we can't put it together? AGAINST THE MAVS, MINUS DIRK, PLUS EDDY FREAKING CURRY! These guys are too smart, to talented. This is not the offense we need to run. Guys are bored and in showed in their defense, or lack of.

Ditch the f*****g Princeton, dump Eddie Jordan, let Steve Nash be Steve Nash, SIGN DELONTE WEST ASAP. And make Dwight Howard shoot free throws a couple feet back like Nick Van Exel did cause he's long on all his shots, they go straight, but are just shot too hard. (D12 is going to make me go CRAZY this year because of that!)

Maybe...just MAYBE....we wouldn't be pointing out all the Faker deficiencies, if Faker fans didn't claim they were gonna win the championship, when the trades were made. Before any games were played.

The media and Faker fans, bought this on yourselves.

It's NEVER been wise to talk a bunch of smack, if you can't back it up !

It's like initiating a fight by punching someone in the jaw and then when that person opens a can of WHOOP BUTT on you, you try to quit and beg the person to stop.

Kat....

You raise good questions, which is why ALL Non-Fakers don't understand why la got Nash.
As you implied:

1. He can't play D
2. He's never won a ring
3. His one asset of running an offense/ dominating the ball, is being taken away from him

So, educated fans have concluded, the FAKERS are a 3 (maybe 4) seed. Behind OKC, Clippers, San Antonio and maybe Denver.

Based on your assessment of your own team, you seem to agree.

Because the Point Guards on the teams I mentioned are going to ABUSE Nash. He was outplayed by Collison !

My hope for the Mavericks is that they can establish a nice, steady offense that involves everyone, then incorporate Dirk into that offense. This team has relied too heavily on Dirk in isolation the last few years. There are some new scorers getting to emerge from the shadows of their respective teams. Adding a top 10 scorer to that mix will be pretty exciting.

Carlisle is a really impressive coach pulling this group together.

Kinda hard for the coach to motivate a bunch of egotistical whiny babies being paid millions? Yeah, it's the coaches fault. Yeah, and Kobe needs to scream at all of them, don't they know they are supposed to worship him too, let him get his points, and they figure out a way to win with him getting his 30 shots. Haha, long season.

and when you have 4 potential hall of famers? Who do you let "play their game? Wo do you "trust"?

Out of the 4 on the lakers, I would trust Kobe and Gasol, you know, the guys with rings.

Nash has played "his game" his entire career, and we all see what it got him. Playoff runs finished with epic failure. Nash has to adjust to get his game meshed with the lakers, more than the lakers need to adjust their game to mesh with Nash. BOTH need to change some, but Nash must more than the rest of the team. If he doesn't figure something out, I see him watching a lot of games. When it comes playoff time, who in LA thinks he's going to be able to stay in front of Westbrook? Or Parker? Lawson? The list goes on, with the other "contenders", they are going in to any series with a huge disadvantage in that the PG is going to be able to do what he wants without help. It is much harder (and leaves you more vulnerable) help against a G than it does against a big man

Get real, there are no decent bench pieces still sitting out there with no job. If they get anyone to replace Blake now, it will be someone release by another team. The lakers made their choice, they chose to put an "NBA13" starters, and let the bench suffer, but assume it won't matter because the starters will get them such a cusion.

I do think the lakers will pull it together, and still be one of the teams in the running for a title at the end of the day. But their problems really aren't fixable at this point. They are just going to ahve to learn how to mask them. Their bench is trash. Artest thinks he can shoot. Howard can't shoot free throws, Nash can't guard my grandmother. None of these issues are going away, they just have to figure out how to use their substantial advantages to overcome those disadvantages

This is a nice theory..........HOWEVER, this would mean taking the ball out of kobe/ wanna-be-like-Mike hands!

Everyone knows, Nash should run the offense. Dude only got 4 assists! his fewest in over a decade.

But if Nash were to run the offense ball-hawk/ jack-up-artist/ And1 / Harlem Globe Trotter would cry so much, it would flood Staples Center.

Like he cried, when he was Shaq's waterboy on the first 3 Championships and Shaq was the MVP or when he wanted to be traded.

Crybaby !
