Kobe Bryant says “85% “ chance he plays Tuesday in season opener

Did you really expect otherwise?

Kobe Bryant went through the Lakers shootaround Tuesday morning in advance of the Lakers season opener against the Dallas Mavericks and came out of it saying he was able to do everything and expects to play.

My man Beto Duran of ESPN Radio in LA summed it up best in this tweet:

Again, what did you expect? This is Kobe Bryant. He plays through broken fingers, bad knees and pretty much the tribulations thrown at Job.

Kobe injured his foot more than a week ago during an exhibition with the Kings and was shut down from practice and games for the rest of the preseason. He said on Facebook Monday that while it hurt the only concern was to make sure it was healing despite the pounding of running around and playing.

Apparently he got through shootaround okay and is ready to go.

The Lakers open the season with a back-to-back so it’s worth watching to see if he is good to go Wednesday night in Portland after a full game. Also watch to see if Mike Brown keeps his minutes in check.

    There was no way he was going to miss the opener. He would play through anything he’s a warrior

    This was all BS drama so he could fly in and save the day. He really thinks he’s Mr. Wonderful. Good thing he can play a game for millions, that’s all he’s good for.

      Kurt didn’t write that… he is quoting a tweet by Beto Duran, an ESPN writer.

        …and if you don’t know that Kurt is notorious for typos and grammatical errors, then shut your pie hole. WHO WANTS SOME?!?!? didn’t think so….

        well if it wasn’t a screen shot, it was just typed up, it still says, “My man Beto Duran of ESPN Radio in LA summed it up best in this tweet”. That tends to imply it is a quote.

        And yes, Kurt does make a lot of typos and grammatical errors, but that doesn’t make you any less wrong here.

    @skids003
    What exactly are YOU good for? Oh, I know, leaving stupid comments on sites such as this one…..Of course he’s playing tonight. Hate him or love him (and most of you haters would love him if he played on your fave team!), you MUST respect his passion & love for the game. Kobe’s foot would have to be amputated to keep him off the court. And even then he’d hop around on one foot and drop 20 pts. Mamba out!! Go LAKERS!!

    Kobe’s line for tonight: 8-14 from the field, 4-6 from the ft, and 1-3 on 3’s for a total of (drum roll, please!) 23pts!! D12: 21-15-4, Nash: 10pts, 12 assists…in a LAKERS victory. Believe it!!!!!
