The Cavs had the best record in the league during LeBron’s last year in Cleveland. They had a legitimate chance to win the championship. And Gilbert thinks it was a mistake not to trade him. Imagine Cleveland, heading to the playoffs as the #1 seed, trading LeBron for Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, Ray Felton, Timofey Mozgov, a 1st pick, two 2nd picks, and $3mil. You want to talk about Cleveland fans rioting in the streets?

No sh– Sherlock, If he had figured this out sooner, like when Lebron was not returning his text messages etc, he could have saved himself a lot of embarassment and gotten some good players for the Cavaliers. I would have shipped his ass to Toronto or Minnesota for whatever I could get before letting him walk away and then whinning about it.

How is this not the headline?

That Dan Gilbert, billionaire asshat leader of the charge against LeBron James (and LeBron James Decision), conceding that James did what anybody in his spot would do — leave.

Further, that the city’s woes — including but not limited to billions in losses to Cleveland’s microeconomy — don’t fall on the guy who, again, did what players do, but the billionaire asshat owner didn’t hedge against that possibility.

Just a thought.
