I have a feeling Kobe will make every effort to play, if he doesn’t it will mean he’s really injured his foot badly. Kobe won’t want to miss the first game playing with Nash and Howard. Plus he’ll wnt to showcase his rebuilt team on national tv. Go Kobe!!! Go Lakers!!!

I’m a lakers fan but if Kobe had to sit this meaning games its probably best to let him rest. Saw on a post of his that he’s still in major pain as of yesterday. Why risk it in game one. Kobe has nothing to prove as far as toughness goes, but the older you are the harder it is to come back from injury. Stay put until your 100 percent instead of trying to play through pain and never let the foot heal.

Depending on the severity of the injury (a week w/out practice doesn’t sound good) it might be smart to let him sit out the first two games. Certainly the LAKERS could use more work on offensive sets, defensive rotations, substitution patterns, etc. Since they aren’t likely to play much better than .500 ball until they figure it all out anyway, why take the risk with Bryant?
