I agree Blake Griffin has a long way to go to be considered good defensively but his offensive game is coming along nicely, especially his footwork with his back to the basket. Also, why wouldn’t Blake use his athleticism to his full advantage? That’s like saying “If Lebron wasn’t freakishly big and athletic he would only be good instead of one of the best ever”.

I watched most of this game and he got at least half of his points off putbacks. But regardless he’s not going to be a project on offense- he does have a decent mid range shot.

davis is skilled. bruiser though? he looks like the type to GET bruised only because of his body type. but KG and durant seem to make a good living in the nba. why? because they have superior skill at their position. and davis does too. but bruiser? that term should be given to guys like cousins, al jefferson, bogut, bynum…but not to a guy who paul pierce outweighs. i’d give the bruiser title to melo before him. but that shouldn’t take away from anything he will bring to the game. i just questioned the term bruiser.

The media can get too fixated on scoring at times – it is a two way game after all.

Davis will be much better than Blake G. who if you read scouting reports is considered an average at best defender and has developed little offensive game and instead falls back on his tremendous arhelticism.

Davis by all accounts has a tremedous work ethic that will eventually vault him to be one of the best players in the league with time.

Davis is going to have a very good rookie season. Maybe a Rookie of the Year season. But in three or four years he will be a force of nature and one that will lift the Hornets up high in the West.

At which point he will force his way out of town to a big market so he can maximize his earning potential
