The saying is you can’t teach in old dog new tricks, and for my 49 years on this earth I truly believed that until this year when I seen an actual old canine learning new tricks he was around 8 years old, so even though it is highly unlikely that Carmelo will change his game it is possible, I never wanted him to change per-say, just add to!!! add more passing, add a little more defense, Dominique Wilkins started adding to his game a little more defense here, a little more passing there, every year at the peak of his career and still never had enough to win it all even though he had plenty of 50plus win seasons, but he sure was fun to watch not winning a championship.

i like how tyson put it, as melo having an ‘instinct’..like an animal predator..they just have that instinct to hunt. and i sorta agree with TC due to the mismatch melo can present on most nights.

Yep, better expect the same ‘ol Carmelo. After 19 years in the NBA and a coach that he prefers (come on, you don’t really believe he is going to listen to Coach Woody…) Anthony is going to do what comes natural to him when he has the rock. Shoot!

Carmelo is a gunner. He is gonna jack up shots ala Allen Iverson. That’s what gunners do. Jordan and Kobe became less of a gunner and facilitated more and their respective teams were better off for it. But they had other parts to their games other than scoring. they were good passers and can defend. Melo, not so much. he is the perennial ball stopper. I was with fomer coach d’antoni all the way. I did not want this guy on the knicks. we would have been better of with the team we had before that trade. but if they wanted to make a splash, they should have went after the guy d’antoni wanted, Derron Williams. I can barely stomach to watch the knicks now because of melo.
