I don’t view that as a silver-lining at all. The only way this team can contend is if their 3 best players – Carmelo, Chandler, and Stoudamire – learn how to play together and become more effective while sharing the court instead of less effective.

When Boston’s Big-3 came together, their individual stats went down a bit, but they became far more successful in the playoffs. Same with Miami’s Big 3.

Those guys had to step outside of their comfort zones and learn what roles to fill and what roles to cede to others. The priority for the Knicks is for Carmelo and Amar’e to get comfortable *playing together*, not to get Carmelo playing at the 4.
