Because as soon as I tweeted this, before I wrote the story, three tweets about Blake for Bell popped up in my timeline. And Kobe recruited Bell in the past. That said, I don’t think it’s a good trade for either side.

Nobody wants Raja Bell’s terrible contract either. So why on Earth wouldn’t they take Steve Blake and a young player like Johnson-Odom for Bell and another aging veteran that would make the salaries work?

Not exactly sure where you think Bell suddenly got all this value. Bell is 36, so I don’t even think Bell for Blake would be a good swap for the Lakers. So why wouldn’t the Jazz do it as long as they’re not taking on salary? Confusing.

I doubt that any GM is dumb enough to trade something of value (to them) for a player that the Jazz have been trying to pay to send home for months. Either:

- He is included as part of a bigger trade.
- He is traded for a late 2nd RD draft pick
- He is traded for another player who has worn out their welcome (preferably on the final year of their contract).

If they can get an actual upgrade or worthwhile pick, someone has private “GM Party” pictures…
