The list of players who didn’t require a powder toss and shimmy-shake with his teammates is long and distinguished: Magic, Bird, Abdul-Jabbar, Chamberlain, Reed, Bing, Hayes, Unseld, Moncrief, Lanier, Moses, Erving, Ewing, Stockton, Isaiah, Barkley, Thompson, Frazier, Cowens, Monroe, Olajuwon, Havlichek, Russell, McAdoo, Duncan, Robinson, Gervin, Archibald….etc, etc.

Today’s attention-seeking clowns will somehow survive.

I would love to know why NBA games start 18 minutes after their scheduled time. That has nothing to do with pregame rituals. Football kickoff at exactly 1:00pm EST so why have I been conditioned to flip on the Heat game at 7:18pm?

Also, has anyone EVER complained about NBA games being too long? They are probably the shortest in sports next to soccer (who seem to get by just fine without TV timeouts by the way). I don’t know how long a hockey game takes cause I don’t care to watch, but since they have 2 half times I can’t imagine they are quick games. I really don’t care for David Stern.
