I lived in Orlando for some years (college) and got to see Lewis play alot and I can honestly say, he will school NOBODY! He had 1 good playoff run and that was it.

Agreed regarding Ray Allen’s versatility. What a great sequence he had in China: steal, fast break, assist LeBron for the dunk. Next possession cut inside and receive a laser from LeBron for an easy layup. Ray even broke out his post game. I can’t believe this is the same guy the Celtics complained about having to run plays and screens constantly to get him involved.

I also can’t believe these Celtics fans who are deluding themselves into thinking Jason Terry is as good or comparable. JET may hit nearly as many 3′s as Ray but he can’t guard anybody and doesn’t have the overall impact that Ray gives you. Heat fans should be excited for the inaugural season of the Big 4 in Miami.

Even when they both were in their primes I’d take Jamison. I think he’s had a little better career than Lewis has.

I doubt Miami is expecting or counting on anything at all from Rashard Lewis. Whatever he can give the Heat is a bonus; if he gets hot from three for even ONE GAME in the playoffs then the signing was worth it. If he’s washed up then he’s just an end-of-the-bench minimum salary veteran.

And I’m not sure how you throw Ray Allen into that “having to adjust a little” statement. He’s looked great and more versatile than I expected through the first few preseason games; one could argue he’s been Miami’s best player save James so far.

And for you laker fans, I actually believe your bench is better than it gets credit for. The Jamison signing was savvy and yes, he’s better than Lewis. But the more apt comparison in terms of how large an off-the-bench role they’ll play is between Jamison and Ray Allen… which really isn’t a legitimate dicsussion. In any case, nobody down here is quaking in their respective boots worrying about whether or not Lewis is washed up or not.

In his prime, he was better than Jamison. But that was a long time ago lol..back when he was on Seattle.
But you’re right, he’s not better than Jamison at this point.

Both the Lakers and Heat need to have their stars healthy in order to win a championship. Likely, the Heat wouldn’t have beaten the Celtics had Bosh not returned for game 6. The Heat just have one less star that needs to stay healthy than the Lakers do.

Kobe, Howard and Gasol are all not injury prone, any more than Bosh and Wade are.

Oh, and don’t laugh too loud, Ray Ray, Battier and Rashard aren’t exactly “spring chickens” themselves. Battier is the only one in that bunch that’s not injury prone.

For once Fakerluver, you are right. Lewis has been coming along slowly.

HOWEVER, even in his injured / diminished state, he will school EVERYBODY on the laker bench !!!

The Faker bench is a bunch of YMCA players…that’s what you should be concerned about, instead of any other team or their bench.

Because of your weak bench, the Fakers are a 3 seed ” AT BEST”. You won’t beat OKC, San Antonio or the Clippers in a series. You may not beat Denver !

If one of your geriatric, injury prone starters get hurt, you may not get outta the first round !
