I never heard of The Philadelphia Intelligencer until reading this story. So you’re first mistake is using a second-rate source. Then the story uses Eskin as the basis of the story. Even bigger mistake. Eskin is all about Eskin. Since he has returned to TV, he needs to make headlines so people will talk about him. He’s kind of like the Rush of Philly sports. He’ll say things just to stir things up. Finally, the origin of Wawa name is correct, but location is wrong. Store got it’s start in Wawa, PA, which is in Southeastern, PA.

Wawa was an old Indian word for Canadian geese, the honking sound they make when they fly. The Wawa reffered is a convience store that started somewhere near Harrisburgh , PA. They are all over southern PA and elsewhere.

As a sixers fan who lives in Philly, Sixers fans know what they are getting. A guy who has had multiple minor issues with his legs, but it’s not like we are getting a guy who has had 3 ACL procedures or something.

Really? How? By shooting 3′s when the coach told him not to? By saying that close-out games are easy? By being outplayed my JaVale McGee? By not being involved in timeouts?

I can’t stand Bynum and am glad LA got rid of him. He can certainly be a beast, but he’s nowhere close to being mature.

while i intended to highlight the meaningless of a bruise. I do understand the difference between a bone bruise and a “normal” bruise. I made a mistake by assuming that you can’t make it worse, considering I’ve read that he is fine and that this is mainly precautionary.

Gordon had cartilage damage and had to have surgery. They originally thought it was a bone bruise but it wasn’t. From everything that i’ve read Bynum’s bruise is a bruise and the Sixers are mainly sitting him out as a precaution.

There’s a difference in severity between a bone bruise and a “normal” bruise that I’m not sure you’re understanding.

A “normal” bruise is a minor trauma to your capillaries (the smallest of your blood vessels) that causes small amounts of blood to seep into the surrounding tissue.

A bone bruise is where a trauma to your bone that causes the fibers in your bones to leak out. It is one step before a fracture, and you CAN make this bruise worse. If you aggravate a bone bruise, you risk fracture. A bone bruise is more severe.

he’s not sitting out because of a bone bruise. Honestly you’re the only reporter that I’ve read that words it that way. Every other report i’ve read or watched says that he is sitting out to maximize the treatment on his procedure. The procedure only gives you benefits for a limited amount of time. He, and the team, do not want him wasting this treatment on preseason games. Yes, he does have a bruise on his knee, but that’s not keeping him out for three weeks. Do you honestly believe that a bruise is going to keep any basketball player out for three weeks? Bruises hurt, but it’s not a tear and nothing’s broken. Even if he played he couldn’t make the bruise any worse. This is strictly precautionary. You’re making a bigger deal out of this than Sixers fans.

Um even if Bynum was 100% healthy I’m not sure I’d want him wasting bullets in preseason games.
