His dribbling didn’t seem fluid. and his movement was a little robotic. he needs to loosen those legs if he wants to play on the perimeter. A lot of this is bad coaching. At his size, and potential size, he needs to focus on playing down low, keeping the ball up, and utilizing his height advantage. The only advantage a taller player has on the outside is the ability to shoot over someone else and he loses that by bringing the ball back down to the defender on his jump shot. He’s getting by on talent alone because no one is teaching him the fundamentals. If you’re not strong enough to shoot the ball the right way from deep, than you shouldn’t be shooting it from deep. Step in and shoot it correctly. It’s a lot easier to get stronger than it is to change your shooting motion once you get used to it.

The kid has the talent to be good, but he’s lacking the basic fundamentals to be great. Also with his body type, he is prone to more injuries. if he wants to play in the NBA, he’s going to have to focus on taking care of his body.
