bunch of bs as long as the nets showed they were trying to field a serviceable team he wasnt leaving 25 million on the table so its not 99-100% its more like 75million or 100 million as like everyone would he took the cash , just dont make excuses for it

Cuban’s reputation as a players’ owner precedes him. His absence probably meant more in that context.

But I think D-Will is being polite in relation to the track record, which was all but destroyed a year-and-a-half ago.

Exactly right. He’s from Dallas and is covering for not going there. Nice way to take responsibility.

Anyone who follows the Mavs and Cuban know that despite what you think about him personally, he treats his players better than any organization in the NBA and will go to tremendous lengths to sign and or keep a player.

D Williams took the easy way out on this one.

Actually Deron Williams said he wouldn’t discuss a future with the Nets because he was sure he was going to Dallas until he heard the Nets signed Joe Johnson (and in retrospect, apparently Cuban’s absence affected his decision.) So I don’t think it was at 99%.

Why would he have to be, assuming he wasnt? Deron has been a Net 1.5 years; I’m sure they have had ample opportunities to discuss the future of the franchise?

Seriously what questions couldn’t have been answered by the GM, Coach, Dirk? What was his question to Cuban, will you spend to improve this team? That’s simply silly. My guess is that Deron felt slighted that Cuban was simply not there in person. I mean to each their own, but Deron wasn’t walking away from more guaranteed money anyway, regardless of Cuban being physically present at any meeting.
