think the NBA made a step in the right direction by trying to curtail flopping, however, it is such a objective call. I think if they got rid of the charge call altogether it would force players to play through contact.

With no consequences for flopping why wouldn't they? And find me a single team in the NBA that doesn't flop, let alone a single recent champion. Seriously, find one team.

And I'm in favor of getting flopping out of the game, BTW.

About time the NBA cleans up flopping, the refs have been ignorant of this for far too long. I was glad to see the NBA clean up all that crybaby whining and now it's great to see the game get some integrity by finally stopping dirty players from cheating by creating fake fouls. I think that fining these overpaid prima donnas isn't good enough, players should get tossed from games if their flopping foul count gets too high, just like technical fouls. Too bad it took so long to come up with such an obvious rule, but better late than never.

Moral of the video is that "minor embellishment" won't be penalized. Only "major embellishment" will be penalized.

So if Player A pushes a Player B with a fair amount of force, and Player B waves his hands in the air, player B won't be penalized if he stays upright and keeps playing.

However, if Player A barely pushes Player B, or doesn't actually push him at all, and Player B falls to the ground, player B WILL be penalized since he over-exaggerated the contact by falling to the ground and stopped playing.

The system, if it works, will encourage players to try to play through light contact rather than falling to the ground in agony even if only gently pushed.

Impressive.

One of my main concerns about these anti-flopping penalties is that while it sounds good in theory, I was worried that superstars might get a free pass.
That meant role players and teams without superstars would be at a disadvantage - well, an even bigger disadvantage than what they currently have to deal with.

If the NBA is *actually* willing to fine Kobe, Wade, LeBron, Pierce, Harden, Parker, CP3, Dirk, etc., then I can more readily support the new rules.
