In regards to Griffin, howzabout the refs just start calling all the offensive fouls he commits whenever a defender is nearby? Rather funny that someone can make millions in a league while knowing nothing about how it works.

He’s absolutely right. If a guy thinks “flop=win”, he’s going to flop Fines will cut down some of the problem, but what’s 10 grand if it gets you into the playoffs?
Stern’s policy allows too many easy penalties, and no guarantees of real punishment. But hey, at least it looks like he’s doing something about it.

The NBA needed to do something, did they come down harsh enough probably not. Griffin and his millionaire teammates and foes won’t worry about money but instead twitter reaction and the like is the bigger concern.

complaints from one of the biggest floppers in the league? go figure. on O, blake is aggressive, pushes off, taunts, you name it. but on D, he plays more like another griffin named peter. no talent hack.

No, it’s going after guys who are 6’8, 250 who dunk all over guys, push off while doing so, stare them down like indestructible forces, but go flying out of bounds when Ricky Rubio drives into the lane, as if Tyson caught him on the fowl with a 1988 uppercut.

And guys who are 6’8″ 260 who couldn’t be bowled over by anyone in this league unless blindsided, taking dives just the same.

Dear Blake-

You’re awesome and I like you already and will probably love you when you develop a post game and 16 foot j. A couple things though:

1. Fines go to charity, so not sure how the “more money” comment applies.

2. A flop equals a lost possesion (turnover) or additional opportunities at points (free throws). These things VERY MUCH can lose or win a team a game (See Cardinal’s flop against LBJ Game 5 of 2011 Finals). The silly cliche “one person (or possession) didn’t lose us that game” is only subordinate to the more sillier cliche that “the long two is the worst shot in basketball”.

And what was the jumping over a Kia stunt in the slam dunk contest? Was that also money for charitable causes or for some over hyped climb over people to slam dunk a ball basketball player. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black and even this more like the pot calling the white stove black; as Kurt pointed out the NBA does not benefit from the fines. No pun intended here, so no racist reply’s needed.

Just keep flopping and they will up the penalties to suspensions, see if that stops it in the playoffs.
