Report: Cavs keep Varejao on trade block. Shocking, I know.

Do you remember a time when Anderson Varejao wasn’t on the trade block?

It seems so long ago that he was going to be a part of the Cavaliers future along with that LeBron guy, but things have changed. Varejao has been on the blocks forever and a day now, it seems.

And that hasn’t changed, reports the News Herald.

The big question is whether the 30-year-old Varejao will be dealt at the trade deadline. Multiple sources around the league think the Cavs will deal him this season.

Cleveland should wait for the right deal to move him — Varejao can be a good influence on this young team. Varejao is one of the NBA’s real hustlers, and intense guy who doesn’t really coast. That’s a good lesson for Dion Waiters, Tristan Thompson, Kyrie Irving and the rest.

But when a deal comes that can help the Cavaliers rebuild, they need to pounce.

varejao is the type of player who needs to be on a contending team to be fully appreciated. put this guy on the heat or spurs and even though he isn’t all star level talent, his style of play will take them to another level.

I’d swap him 4 Dexter Pitman (sp) in a HEART BEAT!!!

True. Varejao made big play after big play in his limited minutes for the Cavs when they were a contender. He may have flopped too much but his real value lies in how he could get under the skin of the opponent. He’s the ultimate I’d-rather-have-him-on-my-team-guy.

        limited minutes?

his first 2 years, he flopped. the rest of his career he has played great defense while announcers have refused to move on.

I think it’s safe to say that the Cavs won’t be trading him to the heat anytime soon

    2 thoughts…

    1) Nothing in that says the Cavs put him on the block. Instead, it is speculation.

    2) No deal offered will ever be a good value for the Cavs as teams have consistently tried to low ball the Cavs as they point to his stats trying to distract from what he actually brings.

Kyrie Irving & Anderson Varajao for Stoudemire & J-Kidd straight up. Fair deal for both sides.
