I completely agree. Every team with pieces like this should aspire to win a championship. In reality they probably wont. But they shouldnt be bowing down to the Heat or Celtics like they are some scrubs. Getting to the playoffs shouldnt be their goal. Most of their players have been there done that. D-Will was a series away from the finals. Joe Johnson has been to the 2nd round multiple times. Gerald Wallace has been in the playoffs. Even Kris Humphries has been to the playoffs. This team should have championship aspirations. So can we find a real story to write about Kurt. Thanks.

Jesus. Avery Johnson said the goal was a championship which is the goal of every team in every sport. John Johnson said they have the parts and now they need to come together. Stop trying to make this out to some Vince Young “dream team” line. Everybody here knows that in the NBA there are only 5-6 teams who even have a chance at the title any given year so unless you’d like the rest of the teams so stand around and go “well I’m just here to make it a little harder for Durant when he grabs that ring” then find something else to write about.

Also you’re no longer allowed to criticize the Nets until you can figure out who their starting 3 is.

I think this is the 400th PBT article now that says something like this:

“Nets think they are championship contenders. We get it, you’re supposed to be confident and think you can win, but they’re not gonna win a championship.”

Ok, WE get it too. If you know they’re supposed to think that way, what’s the big deal? Let the chips fall where they may. No need for a constant reminder that they’re a middle-of-the-pack playoff team, or that Boston overpaid for Jeff Green, or that the Knicks are old.

Also, Dirk Nowitzki does not play for your coach anymore. The first embraced him in Dallas because they needed a change from Don Nelson, but he ruined it afterwards.

Plus, Billy King Acquired Joe Johnson, signed big contracts to Travis outlaw, Elton Brand, and Andre Iguodala!!! I rest my case!!!
