Looks ugly in that red and white. Don’t wana see that all black or red and black uni either.
He’s meant to have green somewhere in his uni (Bucks, Sonics, Celtics).

True. This version of the Celtics didn’t win 17 titles. Just like this version of the Heat didn’t win 2 titles. There are really only 4 franchises in the NBA that is in the “Elite” category based on titles. They are Celtics, Lakers, Bulls ans Spurs. Using your own logic, this year’s version of both the Heat and Celtics are blank pages because they are different teams from the ones that won titles. We’ll see who is standing at the end of this season.

The Celtics have been in the title picture 5 year’s running.
Winning one is fine, repeating it is tougher. The Lakers and the Celtics improved much more than Miami has.
The Thunder improved by just getting a year older.

The reason people hate your fanbase is because you think its a foregone conclusion they repeat.
Keep looking past the Celtics, keep telling yourself that it was because of Bosh being gone. Keep disregarding that Boston’s rotation last year included guys that woyldnt have seen the floor if not for Wilcox, Green and Bradley being injured.

I can’t wait until you aren’t even playing for the title. Maybe tour frontrunner fanbase will finally shut up again.

This version of the Celtics haven’t won 17 titles.

The Bill Russell-era Celtics won 11 – and that was a half-century ago.

More recently, the Bird-era Celtics won 3 – and that was over 20 years ago.

You have 1 Championship victory in the past 20 years – Fewer than the Miami Heat, the Houston Rockets, the LA Lakers, the Chicago Bulls, the San Antonio Spurs, the Detroit Pistons, etc.

Saying your franchise is elite because half a century ago they were really great is more sad than anything.

When your Heat win 17 titles, let’s talk. Ray Allen got beat out for the starting job by Avery Bradley last year. He was going to play even fewer minutes with Boston this year. Courtney Lee & Jason Terry will be just fine in that role. The Celtics actually improved by subtraction. But I still say, Good luck to Ray. He was a good Celtic for awhile!

Another reality check: go back and look at the standings from last year. The Heat did not dominate the East. Also, in the playoffs, they didn’t exactly walk all over the Celtics. It came down to the 4th quarter of game 7. I know your team won the championship and are once again favored….but please live in realty. Don’t be a stereotypical Heat fan that thinks that because your team won a championship that it means you dominated the league and will win the next 5 years.

The idiocy of some of the people on this site astounds me. Ray was a shell of himself last year, and he is still damaged goods this year. Bradley was a much better option.

I don’t want to downplay the importance that Ray Allen had in the playoff runs and the championship that the Celtics won, but last year he was not himself and he was more of hindrance than a help. As much as I wanted him back, I think the Celtics will be just fine without him.

The Heat dominate the Celtics in the opener…and then the East (again) during the season.
