Friday night video: Lebron James’ passing skills

Sep 28, 2012, 10:52 PM EST

LeBron James gets compared to Michael Jordan based on accomplishments. Jordan is the gold standard.

But they are very different players. Jordan was a scorer like none other, but LeBron is more like Magic Johnson or Oscar Robertson — they can score but they are all-around playmakers. And LeBron has been a passer since high school.

Enjoy, and know that a week from now we will have actual NBA basketball games to watch.

    Agreed.
Jordan is a shoot-first guard who is famous for being a ridiculously effective scorer.
LeBron is a pass-first forward who is famous for being versatile on offense – score, facilitate, and rebound.

LeBron should be compared to a versatile small forward like Larry Bird or oversized point guard like Magic Johnson.

I really think you’re underrating Jordan’s passing ability. He was all-around playmaker as well…

Yeah LeBron is a good player but Jordan could pass the ball too please don’t imply otherwise… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiTOXUmsdoM

Awesome compilation, Noticeably absent Joel Anthony.

Hillarious, jayzus. I guess the pass doesn’t look so good when it bounces off a guy’s hands and goes out of bounds.

Joel Anthony = negative 75 assists per season for LeBron

    GOAT

    • trueballs - Sep 29, 2012 at 1:04 PM

This guy is a pass-first superstar. And has a higher career scoring average than Kobe. Still not there with Jordan as the GOAT….but I’m not sure there’s been a player that can step on a court and change the game so much both offensively and defensively. Two straight 60+ win seasons with the Cavs? C’mon….just sit back and Witness greatness
