Dragic averaged 8.5 assists as a starting guard last year and Houston played at a slower pace. He is more than capable of setting up gortat. And I don’t see why Gortats rebounding will go down Just because Nash is gone.. With scola around, it should be over 10.

One team I wouldn’t be surprised at them taking a dive is Dallas. I still have them making the playoffs, but Dirk, Carter, Marion, and Brand are no spring chickens. Kaman has had his injury issues, Collison and Beaubois are erratic, and Mayo is a question mark. I’m not sold on them being a great defensive team either. They just seem like one of those teams with some good individual talent on paper, but could definitely get beat out by the likes of Utah, Minnesota, Golden State, or Phoenix.

I don’t think Gortat will average 15/10 without Nash. More like 12/8.

4th or 5th in the West…

1, 1A Okla, Lakers
3 Spurs
4 4A Clips, Denver
6 6A Memphis, Dallas
battle for 8th between Minny, Utah

I just can not see Phoenix finishing higher than eighth and things would have to break right for them to even get that high. No way they finish in 4th or 5th in the West this year.

not to make drexler sound like he’s crazy here, but keep in mind he did also say he thought he was better than jordan. every man is entitled to their opinions, and i don’t think it’s out of the realm of reality that the suns can make an impact this season. guys may not know it now, but dragic is their best player. and he is a pretty damn good point guard who will make it known this season. book it.

It may be a stretch, but The Glide may be on to something. I personally don’t think they will, but I will tell you this…I would not in the least bit be shocked if they did make it with that final 8 spot. They have a sneaky good team and they really wont be as bad as people think they are. They definatly have a slim chance. Unlikely, but there is some light coming out that crack in the door for them.

uhm no they have a good defense… to be an elite defense you need to actually sustain it for a period of time (not 3 games).

I’m just saying, don’t be surprised if the Suns this year with 3 new starters are better than they were last year with Nash.

I’m a fan of Nash, but again, let’s not pretend that at age 38 he was irreplaceable even by 3 new starters.

1. He never said that Nash was the reason why last year, they weren’t a real team, so I don’t get the sarcastic, “Oh, he must think Nash went iso all the time last year.”

2. In Nash’s prime, the idea that losing Nash but gaining 3 new starters would be a net positive would be crazy. However, Nash at AGE 38 is not Nash at age 28. It is very possible that adding Scola and Beasley to Gortat creates a pretty gifted front-court (at least offensively). While Dragic entering his prime is nowhere near Nash in his prime, look at Dragic’s numbers – they’re worse, but not THAT much worse than Nash’s numbers last year.

Well that’s the NFL..and it’s three games.that being said, the cards have an elite defense and that means a lot the league today…especially to a dolphins fan who is suffering with that thing.

The suns have a lot of food young players but the West is too deep and the season is too long when you don’t have at least a star..and there’s is Michael Beasley..nuff said

Houston nearly made the playoffs last year. Post Lowry injury, the two best players from that team are on the suns. Add Gortats 15/10, Dudley’s solid play, beasleys scoring.. It’s very possible they make the playoffs. Now Clyde is just crazy saying that they’ll be a 5-6 seed. They’ll be fighting for those spots with minny, Dallas, Utah. Those teams aren’t wildly good so playoffs are possible.
