Matt Barnes will do 30 hours of community service and go through some counseling sessions as part of a no contest plea to his arrest for unlicensed driving and resisting arrest earlier this summer.

Barnes, who signed with the Clippers just a couple weeks ago, was not in the Manhattan Beach courtroom Tuesday but his attorney was. Barnes was sentenced to two years of probation, 30 hours of community service and he must attend 13 counseling sessions with a therapist.

Back in July, an officer in the coastal city of Manhattan Beach (close to where Barnes and his family live) recognized the former Laker and Magic swingman and came up to arrest him for an outstanding traffic warrant of driving without a license. Barnes also was charged with resisting arrest.

His attorney told the court Barnes now has a valid license, according to the Associated Press.

Barnes would not discuss the case when speaking with ProBasketballTalk last week other than to say he was eager to get the situation resolved and move forward.
