Video: Jalen Rose talks about time Vince Carter went off on Sam Mitchell

Sep 24, 2012, 11:54 AM EDT

Back in 2005, the Toronto locker room friction between Vince Carter and then coach Sam Mitchell was legendary. It didn’t last long as Carter requested a trade and slumped his way out of town in a way that made Dwight Howard look professional.

Generally, these things are not talked about outside the locker room by the parties involved or the witnesses. But Jalen Rose has been in story telling mode lately, and he told a great version of that story as well.

Hat tip to TrueHoop.

Vince was never a bad guy, he’s just not a competitor. You don’t have to be Kobe Bryant every time you take the court, but at least care somewhat..How are Raptors fans ever supposed to forgive him when he admitted to not trying hard?

don’t judge caring by how aggressive one carries him or herself.

Hilarious. Jalen Rose is now officially the Charlie Murphy of the NBA.

he’s been in a few different home locker rooms to have a good amount of stories anyway.

Its too bad. Vince had so much talent but his body betrayed him. He shouldve trained with Tim grover like MJ, Kobe and D-Wade. We’ll always have the 2000 dunk contest and the weis dunk of death from the olympics.
