Barely? The Series was 4-1 Philly without Rose and I don’t remember which games Noah played and didn’t play, honestly. We did lose our best defender, but Evan Turner will now move into that spot, with the potential to do even better things than Iguodala (not necessarily defensive). Losing Lou will hurt, but we added Nick Young, Jason Richardson, and Dorell Wright for scoring. I think that more than makes up for that loss, not to mention Bynum. We were a top three defensive team last year with Spencer Hawes guarding the paint. Now we have one of the most dominant presences down there, who is a beast on the boards and is a very good shot blocker. There are also very few players that can guard him in the NBA. This is a much deeper Sixers team and a much thinner bulls team. You guys won games because of guys like CJ watson, Ronnie Brewer, Kyle Korver, Omar Asik. All of them are gone. This team is not two games worse than Philly.

Correction: Last years team without Rose AND Noah wasn’t as good as the Sixers. Barely. Philly lost their best defender and best scorer, so I think they went sideways a bit. Good move for them I think, but I think it”ll pay dividends further down the road, not next year.

Last years team without Rose was no match for Philly in the playoffs. Now they get worse on the bench, and Philly improves with Bynum and you have Chicago winning 2 less games than Philly. Where’s that logic?

oh yeah this team will get themselves high draft pick this year sorry Chi town fans. i just don’t see this team cracking the top 8 teams, of course i could be wrong, but TOR. WASH. CLEV.will make a lot of noise this year not to mention MIL. being in the mix. Thibbs is a good coach, if he gets this team in the final 8 he will be in my mind a great coach

The only thing I would say is they need to aim higher. Iggy is a good fit for the reasons you mention, but they need to do better if they really hope to surpass Miami.

Thoughts on making a run at Andre Iguodala? He has a player option in the 13-14 season and is an UFA in 14-15. Chicago area native and has the defensive mindset that Thibs likes.

Everybody is giving this team too much credit. Asik may be overpaid in Houston but he was a beast off the bench defensively. The Bulls bench is going to be terrible this year and Rose won’t be there to save them. If the Bulls go 40-42 and nab an 8-seed I would vote Thibs unanimously for coach of the year.

They need Dang to step up with Rose out and get points out of Noah. They will be better then an 8 seed.
