In my opinion it's not about that (rich get richer) at all. Look at what the Clippers have done. Look at what the Thunder have done! I'm saying that there is Talent in the front office of those clubs now. Look at the huge difference in the team the Clippers created since Dunleavy and (the cursed one) Baylor moved on. Same owner with the same philosophy; but now they have "Talent" as exposed in the way they make trades and the finished product.
Clearly the Lakers have had Talent in the front office for decades. We weren't quite sure when Jerry West left things in the hands of his protege (but we should have known better than think he'd leave us in the dark).. Do they have more money because they win or do they win because they have more money? I say they win because they are winners. And because they win they have more money to spend.

ahahahaha....as of 23 Sep, my comment about " never supporting elitist teams such as the Dallas Cowboys, Yankees and The FAKERS" has gotten me 63 thumbs down!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I guess the 50+ Faker fans that patrol this site, called their Faker buddies and as they passed the tissue around, drying each others tears, they decided to show me, how upset they are by giving me thumbs down.

My feelings are hurt...ahahahahahaha....NOT !

But the fact remains, no matter how much you attempt to purchase a championship, OKC, The Clippers and San Antonio are gonna hand you your LUNCH.

The Fakers are the 4th best team in the west, simply because you have no bench play and kobe, nash and metta are past their prime !

Deal with it.

All you laker fans are going to be disappointed about Dwight. Maybe not now but wait. He already said he's not sure about resigning with LA and he's going to wait til after the season to make up his mind. Bahahaha!

Good points, alltime, and kudos for the use of indefatigable. Methinks Bogus, er, I mean Bogut, is just not looking forward to facing Howard in the Pacific division. Kurt thinks he's speaking for a lot of fans and players, but my impression is that they know it isn't that simplistic. Naturally the L.A. market is attractive to players, but it certainly is true that organizational skill counts for a lot.

This is precisely the loser, excuse-making, conformist mentality that has been responsible for the pervasiveness of inferior organizations in the NBA. These organizations and their players are always quick to point the finger and shift the responsibility away from themselves. This rhetoric about rich teams and big markets is getting so tiresome because it’s never supported by FACTS.

Ok, so I’m supposing big money = big market right? Ok, let’s take a look at the dominance of these evil big market teams. When was the last time the New York Knicks were relevant? I can’t remember. How long were the Celtics a mediocre team before they got it together in ’08? I’m gonna say about 20 years! Have the Bulls won any rings since the Jordan era? How much money did they shell out for Derrick Rose? Oh yeah, they drafted him. How about the Clippers? How much time went by before anyone even knew who they were? I’m not even gonna touch that one.

The “luck” of the Lakers is not because they are rich and getting richer. It is because they are a superior organization with an indefatigable commitment to excellence. They take risks when everyone else plays it safe. THAT is how you succeed in business. The true definition of luck is, “Preparation meets opportunity.” You don’t cry or complain and wait for handouts. You want a good team and strong brand? Rebuild your front office. It starts and ends with the front office! You need to be a rich team or be in a big market to do this? Go to OKC or San Antonio and cry about how these big market bullies are keeping you down.

It comes down to this. It is always easier to blame someone else for your problems or lack of opportunity. Look in the mirror Bogut. Your opinion says more about you than it says about the Lakers’ “riches.” Your problem is YOU!

I do not agree with this. This is not the New York Yankees where they spent whatever cash on Free Agents.
